New to Campus Learners for the '20-'21 School Year
We've included information below that will be helpful for your artists as they begin attending classes in person on February 8th. We've established habits and structures to create a safer learning environment for our school community including mask-wearing, social distancing, and the installation of Plexiglas.
Please note that if you have indicated you want your child to shift from virtual to on-campus learning, your child will be counted absent-even if logged into Zoom classes from home.
Items Students Should Be Bringing to School
- Mask
- Refillable water bottles
- Charged up Chromebook and a charging cord
- Student agenda/planner given out at registration
- Lunch, unless your child will be eating a free lunch in the cafeteria
- Textbooks for A Day Classes on February 8th and B Day Classes on February 9th
- Wired earphones or earbuds compatible with Chromebook. (Not wireless or Bluetooth)
- If your child takes medication during the day, parents must drop off medications and communicate with our nurses
- If your child has supplies to turn in to teachers, they can drop those off on the way to their first block class.
- If you have a health cards (printed on white card stock) from registration, those should be sent with your child to turn in during orientation
Times and Places
- Upon arrival middle and high school students report to their first block class. Students may not gather or wait in hallways or the breezeway.
- 8:00 am Gates & buildings Open
- 8:25 am First bell
- 8:30 am Classes begin
- 3:25-3:35 Staggered dismissal to allow for social distancing
Bus Information
- Buses are scheduled to be disinfected before and after each use.
- Masks are required for the driver and all passengers
- No more than two students per seat (If the number of bus riders does not allow for 2 per seat, the driver will pick up students at the bus stop and take them to school but will inform the bus company so arrangements can be made for additional buses or routes)
- Students should load buses from back-to-front and unload from front-to-back
- Drivers may lower four windows per side approx 4 inches to increase ventilation
Lockers and IDs
Middle school students will receive a locker from their homeroom teachers; high school students can see Mr. Hill in Room 1108 to request a locker.
Safety Reminders
Students should have a mask on before boarding a bus, or exiting a car. Mask breaks are provided throughout the day, and masks by be removed while students are eating and drinking.
Doorways, stairwells and halls have been marked to indicate walking directions. Students will need to observe the signs while moving through buildings.
