Weekly Update January 20, 2023

School Board Recognition Month
This month, GJPS joins more than 700 school districts throughout Ohio to celebrate School Board Recognition Month. Serving as a link between the community and the classroom, our School Board members are elected to establish policies that provide the framework for our District that focus on always helping all GJPS students be successful in their future endeavors.
At the January 19 Board of Education meeting, Superintendent Tracey Deagle and Treasurer/CFO Scott Gooding recognized our Board for the endless hours of their time devoted each week to provide leadership for our District.
Celebrating School Board Recognition Month is one small way to say thanks for all they do.

Having a BALL at Gahannathon!
Shoutout to the GLHS STUDENT COUNCIL for sponsoring GAHANNATHON! This year's event offered something for everyone, including family-friendly activities like corn hole, curling, a photo booth and more. The Student Council also organized a dodgeball tournament featuring many student and staff teams.
In the end, an impressive student team overpowered the scrappy staff team to take the "W" in the final dodgeball showdown of the tournament.
Thank you to the students and staff who participated in all the activities and community members who attended the event to raise money for pediatric cancer!
