Searcy FFA Named State Dairy Cattle Champions
Searcy High School FFA members earned the title of champions in the state dairy cattle evaluation. The team will travel to Indianapolis to compete at the national level in October. Members include high point individual Ella Marter, second place winner Ella McDonald, fourth place winner Madison Scarbrough, and fifth place winner Dee Henry. Andrew Smith was named an alternate. Congratulations and good luck in the upcoming national contest! The Searcy FFA teachers are Addison Safley and Mason Hudson.
SWMS Students Broadcast School News
Mrs. Lawson’s 6th grade students are doing a great job producing a daily news broadcast for SWMS. Students are responsible for writing the stories, anchoring the news, running the equipment, interviewing students and staff, and creating and editing advertisements for events on campus.

Students in Mrs. Cheryl Greene's AJHS keyboarding class explore the inside of a computer and learn all about the parts and their functions.

Searcy EAST Programs named Programs of Influence by EAST Initiative
Both Searcy High School and AJHS EAST programs were designated as EAST Programs of Influence by the EAST Initiative for their engagement programs and best practices. The Searcy EAST facilitator is Kelly Martin. Congratulations to both our programs for this outstanding achievement!

Searcy schools cardiac response teams were training this week with the assistance of Charles Wooley, of Arkansas Children's Hospital, Northstar EMS, Searcy Fire Dept., and Searcy PD. Each campus trained to respond in an adequate amount of time to a cardiac arrest. All campuses will be recognized as a Heart Safe School through ACH and Project ADAM. Tammy Bishop is our Health Services Director. We are grateful for supportive community agencies who keep our students and staff safe!
Searcy Cross Country Takes Top Spots at Lyon
Searcy Lady Lions Cross Country team took first place in the Lyon Invitational in Batesville, AR. And the Lions earned the first runner up position. Congratulations! Coach Katie Cooper leads the cross country team.
