AVA Family Update

Good morning AVA Students and Families,
I have next week's schedule, our guidance updates, and community notices linked below as usual.
I hope all our students and families had a good break and a positive start to the New Year. I have two important notices this week.
The first is Science MCAS make ups, which are in February. I contacted all the students already individually that are expected to attend. If you didn't get a direct message from me via email, you are all set.
The second is parent conferences, which are the evening of January 18th. By Friday of next week, you will receive email invitations from all of your teachers to sign-up for a video conference. If you have any questions about the process or need help in any way, please reach out to me.

Guidance Updates
Free Application to MA State Colleges and Universities
If students are considering a state college but haven’t applied yet, there is a free application day on Friday, January 12 if you use the code REACHFREE. Please note, the code is only available on this date.
FAFSA Update for College-bound Seniors
The launch of the new FAFSA has had mixed results. As we all know, it has been delayed this year, and as experts predicted, there are times when the system is overloaded. The advice from experts is to try accessing the form at different times of the day and night when it might not be as busy. Latest information on the official Federal site can be found HERE.
Attleboro General Scholarship
As promised, HERE is the link to the Attleboro High School General Scholarship! For college-bound AVA seniors, it is highly recommended to complete this online application. Deadline is April 1, 2024.
