Homecoming
Homecoming 2023!
Join us for Homecoming 2023! From Spirit Week activities and a parade, to our traditional Chili Supper and the big game, it's going to be a great time to show your Hurricane pride!
-Thursday, 10/5/23, at 6:30pm - Homecoming Parade followed by a Community Pep Rally at Alumni Field
-Friday, 10/6/23 from 4:00-6:30pm - 67th Annual Chili Supper in the WHS Auditeria. The Wilmington Band program is proud to host one of the longest-running traditions in Wilmington. We welcome everyone to join us for our traditional Band Chili Supper as WHS celebrates Homecoming 2023.
- Each meal is $7 and includes a Bowl of Chili, Hotdog, Applesauce or Coleslaw, a Dessert, and a Drink
- Tickets available from current WHS Band members, at the door, or online at wilmingtonbands.ludus.com .
-Friday, 10/6/23 at 7:00pm - Homecoming game vs Goshen
NOTE: We are also inviting Alumni Band members to play with the Marching Band during halftime! They can register using our online form here.
Saturday, 10/7/23 - WHS Homecoming Dance from 7:30 to 10:00pm in the Middle School Gymnasium.
Students:
- Doors will open at 7:30 and close at 8:30
- You will not be allowed to leave the dance until 10:00pm
- You MUST have your ticket to get into the gates. Tickets are $15 and can be purchased at lunch start Thursday, Sept 28th. Laurel Oaks students will be able to purchase tickets during lunch with a SC representative.
- Forms are in the office and at lunch
- Guest forms, permission forms, and money are due at the same time.
- No backpacks allowed
- Tickets are available to current WHS students in Grades 9-12. Students are permitted to bring one guest. No middle school students or students who are over 20.
School Safety Month
October is Ohio School Safety Month. HB 583 designated October as School Safety Month in Ohio to increase public awareness of school safety programs and to encourage Ohioans to identify their role in keeping Ohio schools a safe place for students to learn and grow.
Our campus supervisor, Dave Gehringer, will be providing education and additional information to 9th and 11th grade students during their classes about school safety. If you are interested in more information, below are some parent and guardian resources.
College Fair
On October 18th, we will host our annual college fair. We will have over 60+ colleges represented in the the high school gym. Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors will get to attend during the school day. Teachers will be helping students research and plan for this day.
Report Cards
Report cards are being mailed home on Friday, October 20th. Be looking for these in your mailbox. You will find student grades as well as credit and attendance information. Let the front office know if you do not receive your child's report card. If you have any questions or concerns about 1st quarter grades, please contact your child's teacher.
PSAT Registration
Wilmington High School will be administering the PSAT assessment on October 12th. The test will take place during the school day at the school. The PSAT is available to both Juniors and Sophomore however, we are limited to 30 assessments, so Junior will receive preference.

Ohio Election Information
Election Day is just around the corner. Here are a few reminders for our community:
-October 10, 2023 - The last day to register to vote in the November 2023 general election
-October 11, 2023 - Early/Absentee voting begins. Visit boe.ohio.gov/clinton/election-info/early-voting-hours/ for the dates/times.
-November 7, 2023 - General Election Day. Vote at precint.
-Valid Photo ID is now a mandated requirement for voting in Ohio. Visit ohiosos.gov/elections/voters/id-requirements for identification requirements.
Clinton County Career Fair
The Clinton County Workforce Collaborative and Junior Achievement will host a Career Exploration Fair at Laurel Oaks Career Campus, located at 300 Oak Drive, Wilmington. All 10th and 12th Graders will be attending this event throughout the day on October 11th.
WHS Food Pantry
Wilmington High School has a Food Pantry done in partnership with the Free Store Food Bank. Any family with a student attending in the Wilmington City School District is eligible for this program. An interested family simply needs to complete the attached form and send it with their student and someone from the WHS Food Pantry will contact them for additional information!
We hope to curb food insecurity in our great community and continue to grow our students into community leaders!
