CFF NEWSLETTER
December 7, 2020
Dear Community Families,
First off -- we hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving Break, and we want to wish a Happy Hannukah to our Jewish families celebrating later this week!
We also want to say a HUGE thank you to all the families and students who participated in the Readathon and helped to raise over $45,000 for our school! Your financial support really does make a difference for our students and our community! Plus, thanks to our families who supported CFF during Thankscripting Day, shopping via our Amazon link, Giving Tuesday, and Pledge participation! Plus, together our Dine & Donate at Lemonade raised more than $500.00! Our next D&D will be at the yummy Chipotle on December 15th and 16th. More information to come shortly!
Stay healthy & safe!
***DISTRIBUTION DAY UPDATE!!!***
WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 9
In case you missed Toni's message, here it is again--
"I want to reiterate the message Superintendent Beutner shared this morning. Because of the dangerously high level of COVID-19 in the Los Angeles area, it is no longer safe and appropriate to have any students on campus. We are asking those who are currently working at schools to work from home for the rest of the semester, effective December 10.
Our distribution has been rescheduled to this Wednesday, December 9. The schedule is attached. I understand that, with such late notice, some families will not be able to come to distribution. In that event, please make an effort to coordinate with another family to pick up materials for you. Please feel free to pick up for both students at one of your scheduled distribution times. There is no need to call the office to let us know.
If you need technology support, please contact the main office at 310-476-2281. Although the office will be closed, we will still be answering calls during the school day. The Grab & Go Food Centers and COVID-19 testing sites will remain open. These changes at schools will remain in effect until the next school semester begins on January 11. We’ll continue to evaluate the situation and provide updated information along the way. Thank you for your continued support."
In addition to the materials that teachers are sending home, you will receive the Parent Handbook and guide, and a Book Pack for extra reading at home during the break. In an effort to keep everyone as safe as possible from the transmission of the Corona Virus during distribution, we ask that you place any items to be returned and allow us to place distributed materials in the trunk of your cars rather than exchanging them through open car windows. Please do not forget to wear masks.
