PACK Guardians,

There is some cold weather headed our way I hear! Bundle up this weekend, wrap those pipes, cover those water faucets, and find some good movies to watch! We have Monday off for MLK day and will hopefully see your student Tuesday morning. You know that if there is inclement weather the district will overcommunicate rather than undercommunicate.

Swim meet results - I am proud to announce that Hubbard placed 3rd overall! Also, Madalyn Petty finished 1st in both the 50 yard Freestyle and 20 yard Freestyle and Ammon Yergensen finished 2nd in the 200 Yard Freestyle. Shoutout to these awesome swimmers!

Failure meetings -This past week, campus administration met with all students that failed one or more classes. We had them sign an acknowledgement that they were in attendance at the meeting and heard the information presented. Students who repeatedly fail a class(es) may be retained or sent to summer school. Please have our back in monitoring your child's grades/attendance via parent portal!

EARBUDS - Students need WIRED headphones for their chromebook usage, not bluetooth earbuds. When students are using earbuds we don't know what they are connected to and what they are listening to. When we can physically see the wire going to their chromebook, we KNOW what they are doing. Thank you for understanding this.

UIL - If you received a letter regarding UIL then that was due to your child expressing interest in participating. Hubbard wants to dominate the other middle schools and show how spectacular our student body is. If your child did not initially express interest, but is interested, please have them see Mrs. Studinka in A17!

This past week, your students have been taking their iReady middle of the year assessment in their RLA classes. Next week they will take the same assessment in math. This upcoming week our teachers will be looking at the data for their students, including growth, and using that data to drive their classroom instruction.

A huge shoutout to a couple special PACK parents who are also Tyler ISD board members. Mr. Washmon and Mrs. Harrison, we appreciate how you advocate for public education!

Ms. Reid, our pack choir director, treated a bunch of PACK Choir members to an awesome dinner at Roadhouse this week for all their fundraising efforts!

These two handsome gentleman from our "Tin Can Cafe" modeled their matching tie dye shirts for me today!

How do you know we have people that support our PACK students and public education? They donate their time and MONEY to help us out. This week we received a donation of coats, backpacks, and school supplies to help meet the needs of our students. We also had a private donor write a check to help us purchase additional supplies as needed. If your student is in need and you are in need of assistance PLEASE reach out to our awesome counselors via their email below!

Our 6th grade girls have an amazing opportunity to attend the annual Girl Power Summit, hosted by the Junior League of Tyler, on Saturday, January 27th.

The party bus will leave Hubbard Middle School at 8 am!!!

This event will fill up quickly, so get your signed permission slip returned to Mrs. Fancher or Mrs. Norris ASAP!!!
