A Message from our Principal!
Greetings Braves Family,
Second semester is off to an excellent start!
We are excited about the opportunities for our students to participate in upcoming events this spring. Please join us for the Mr. and Miss Indian River Pageant on Friday, February 17 at 7:00 p.m. The cost will be $5.00 in advance and $8.00 at the door. Throughout the year we continue to celebrate our students and staff for their many accomplishments.
Our theme for this year's Black History Month is "Resist, Reclaim, Rebuild". It is a wonderful month of reflection and celebration for our students and staff. Thank you in advance to the Black History Committee for their hard work and efforts.
All Juniors are able to participate in the Ring Dance Event on Saturday, February 25 at 7:00 p.m. even if they have not purchased a ring. The permissions slips are available in lunches and outside of C17 before and after school.
Another opportunity for all students to get involved is our annual talent show on Friday, March 31 at 6:30 p.m. The cost will be $10. In the past this has been an outstanding event to showcase our students' talents.
Please do not hesitate to call the main office at (757) 578-7000 if you have any questions or concerns.
Take care,
Naomi Dunbar

Attendance Requirements Reminder
Students who are absent more than ten percent of the designated school days run the risk of not receiving credit for the classes, even if they pass them academically. For example, a student that has been enrolled since the first day of school and is absent for ten or more days is considered a chronically absent student. These students and their families will have to complete an attendance waiver request form, which will be shared closer to the end of the semester.
