Our first fundraising event, Corey’s Super Goal Party 2018, was a HUGE success. Over 400 people gathered on Sunday Feb 4, 2018 at Bobak’s Signature Events to watch the Super Bowl and raise money for Corey’s Goal. To date, we have raised over $100,000 through sponsorship, cash donations as well as through the silent auction and raffle at the event. Over 40 volunteers worked tirelessly to help the event be so successful. Thank you to all our generous donors and volunteers who helped make our first event fun for all!

In April, Corey’s Goal awarded its first $2500 grant to the Naperville North Huskies Hockey club for the Corey Walgren Memorial Scholarship. This year’s winner of the award and trophy went to Michael Hall who is attending University of Illinois. Michael is also playing hockey for University of Illinois’ D2 hockey team. Congratulations Michael!

In June, Corey’s Goal had a booth at the National Association of School Resource Officer’s convention in Reno, NV. Over 800 SROs were in attendance. Maureen and Doug spoke with school resource officers from all over the country to spread our message and hand out brochures. We conducted a survey of 80 SROs to see how disciplinary situations are handled across the country.

We are pleased to be this years charity of choice for the 2018 Manchester Court Holiday Light show in Naperville’s Brookdale subdivision (www.manchesterlights.com ). Donations will be collected during the lightshow. We are also doing a light display at our home at 111 Westmoreland Lane from Nov 25-Jan 11 to spread awareness of our charity. Be sure to take a drive this Holiday season to check out the lights.

We are working with the Chicago Blackhawks Special Hockey team to make a donation to help the team attend the USA Hockey Disabled Fest.

We are working on securing speaking engagements where we can get our message out to school administrators, parents and school resource officers.

Corey's Goal is a 501(c)(3) non profit raising awareness of the civil rights of students and honoring Corey and his love of hockey through financial gifting.
