Hawks Happenings Monthly Newsletter
September 2023 Edition
Principals Corner: We are the Hawks!
What a fantastic start to the 2023-2024 school year! From Service Day to our ASB Assemblies, to our FFA students participating in the Fair, we've had a chock-full first few days to the school year!
Our fantastic after school programming begins in September. Our wonderful 21st Century Coordinator, Abel Hernandez, has put together a robust offering of after school activities for students who wish to stay here and have fun. There is an activity bus that can take students home. For more information on our after school programs, please connect with Mr. Hernandez at ahernandez@cpps.org
School Picture Day is Thursday, September 14. Families to wish to purchase pictures may pick-up a Leos Photography picture packet from the main office the week prior.
On Friday, September 15th (POW/MIA day) we will have some of our history students hearing from two amazing veterans retell their story of combat and survival from their experiences in the Vietnam War.
Additionally, this month we kick-off our Fall Sports contests with several home games for our Girls Soccer Team, Volleyball Team, Cross Country, and Football Teams! Our full schedules and athletics information can be found down below in this newsletter.
For students who are walkers to school, we ask that you please remind your student to use the crosswalks provided and not to run across S. College Ave. We want to make sure all of our Hawks are safe.
In this edition of the Hawks Happenings monthly newsletter we will share information with you about our new teacher hires, upcoming sporting events, Gear-Up opportunities, and much more.
If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to us at 509-522-3312.
Thank you, and Go Hawks!
