Bulldog Bulletin

We are off to an amazing start of the school year! Students have been busy learning the school expectations in the classrooms and in all of the common areas of our school. These are known as our Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). As a school community, we focus on four main values. They are honesty, kindness, respect and responsibility. I am so very impressed with the children at HDES. Every day I observe children being kind to each other and trying to do their very best. You should be proud!

In an effort to increase communication between home and school, I will be sending out this Bulldog Bulletin monthly. I hope you enjoy it!

Starting Monday, September 24, construction will be happening on the concrete in the main entrance area of our school. Please take caution and walk around the blocked off area when entering and exiting via the main entrance. Construction will halt during arrival and dismissal so the main entrance will be open at those times. It will take a couple of weeks to complete the necessary concrete work, so please be patient. Thank you!

10/11 - Picture Day -- Forms were sent out this week!

10/11 - Author Visit - Author Tamra Wight will give a Descriptive Writing Presentation. Using her experiences and photos from her hiking trails and kayak, she'll show the inspiration and behind-the-scenes stories from her hands-on research. Photos include loon behavior, campground scenes, fox kits, eaglets, and bears-most of which were taken in her "backyard".

10/15 through 10/19 - Scholastic Book Fair

10/18- The FrogTown Mountain Puppeteers visit HDES!

FYI~The book fair will be open during school hours from 8:00-3:30 9/15-9/19 and during parent conferences from 3:30-7:30pm on 9/18.

Nurse Beale has a small stash of clothes in her office in case students have accidents. If you are looking for a way to contribute to the health and wellness of our students, you could consider donating gently used or new boys or girls leggings or sweatpants (pants with elastic waist bands) sizes ranging from 5 to 8 are currently needed. We are also looking for new, boys and girls underwear, sizes 5 through 8. You may drop off donated items to the front office anytime between the hours of 8:00 am and 4:00 pm on school days.
