FAMILY REMINDERS
- Uniforms - STANTON STUDENTS ARE EXPECTED TO BE IN UNIFORM DAILY GRADES K-8 DAILY FOR THE ENTIRE SCHOOL YEAR UNLESS IT IS A DESIGNATED DRESS DOWN DAY.
- Fridays are not dress down day.
- If you send a student to school with a cell phone, head sets, ear buds, apple watch or similar communication watch, ALL must be put in a Yonder case for the day or turned in to the teacher by 9:15am. The other option is for students to leave this technology at home.
- 95% attendance is the goal for each student. This equals no more than 8 absences a school year. These absences include excused absences.

DOJO
DOJO is a tool I use to send out communication to the school community. Although teacher use this tool as form of texting communication, this has never been a function that I use. If you have a question I can support please continue to email me. This will ensure that I do not miss any parent questions.
All my appreciation:)
ATTENDANCE MATTERS - FAMILIES WE NEED YOUR SUPPORT - EVERY CHILD EVERY DAY!
We need your support to ensure ALL students are on track to maintaining 95% attendance for this school year. This means no more than 7 days absent this school year. If your child missed 1 or more days so far this year, (21 days today) they are not on target to meet 95% attendance for this school year.
How families and support student learning and meeting State and SDP 95% targets:
1. Schedule all doctor appointments, vacations and other activities outside of the school calendar. It does not matter if an absence is excused or unexcused. A day absent is a day absent to reach this goal.
2. Review with your student(s) the Attendance letters we send home about this goal. Student 95% target family letters will be sent home for your review.
3. Use the SDP calendar as a tool to ensure that all students are in attendance on half days!
Research shows:
Children get much more than academics at school. They also learn social and emotional skills, get healthy meals and exercise, and stay connected to mental health supports and other important services.
**Attending school on time, every day:
provides your child with the opportunities for discovery, exploration, learning and achievement they need to thrive allows teachers to best support your child’s academic progress and their unique learning styles and abilities offers students real-time access to the technology and other educational resources they need to engage in their education
leads to daily interactions with teachers, peers and support staff who help students develop friendships, learn more about themselves, build empathy, and better handle stress. This is especially important for children with diverse learning needs**
BENEFITS OF GOOD ATTENDANCE

IMPACTS OF POR ATTENDANCE
The more school time a student misses:
- the less likely they are to be proficient in math and reading by fourth grade, which is when students are no longer learning to read, but reading to learn
- the less likely they are to graduate high school on time
- the more likely they are to drop out of school
- the more challenging it becomes to catch up
Nonetheless, it’s never too late to work with your child’s school to help improve attendance.
