The Leopard Print-Weekly Newsletter
-Mr. Pagan
Week of January 8, 2024
Dear Families
Happy Tuesday,
Hope you this finds you well and warm. This newsletter is for the week of January 8, 2024. This week Lippitt will be administering the Mid of Year diagnostic I-Ready Testing. In an efforts to support all classroom teachers many of the interventionists will not have their normal schedules for the next couple of weeks in order to support testing in the classroom. Please ensure that your child's Chromebook is completely charged, getting good sleep and eating a healthy breakfast in the morning. Should students become anxious during diagnostic testing. Don't worry! We have a great team of educators along with our Social Worker to support with instances like this.
Last Friday, January 5, 2024, RIDE has had principals attend the 2023-2024 Accountability Release: Utilizing Data to Drive Continuous Improvement zoom call. As of 3pm Friday the accountability and ratings were made public at 3pm. This year, you will notice there have been some changed in the cut scores/rating bands than previous years. RIDE has requested an amendment to include Science Proficiency to the accountability report. Therefore, you will see Science included in the overall star ratings.
Safe to say, we are a 2 STAR school. We did drop within the ratings but not enough to place us in a different category. We are still a 1 STAR in ELA/Math achievement. . This year our focus will be to include all TSI/ATSI in our school improvement plan to support those focal groups as shown on our school report. If you get the opportunity please take a look at the RIDE report. I truly believe that we can become a 3 STAR school. This year, we will meet our goals and we will moving on up. Again these scores reflect last school year's results.
As always please take a look at the next couple of weeks with activities, some of our actions steps and plans in hopes to reach our goals for this academic school year. Have a great New Year.

New 1:1 TA
Hi everyone, my name is Rebekah and I'm excited to be a part of the Lippitt Elementary community! I'm currently pursuing my Master's in Teaching, and look forward to sharing my passion for learning with the students and staff here. I grew up in southern New Hampshire but have been living in Rhode Island for 5 years now. I love the beaches and big personality this small state has to offer.. the only thing I'll never love is the party pizza, hopefully you can all forgive me for this. When I'm not at school I enjoy cooking, hiking, thrifting and hanging out with my cat, Bodie!

Heroes Unite! Wednesday, January 17th from 6-7 PM
Join other families with children in kindergarten, first, and second grade, as students make their very own Superhero masks, capes, and cuffs! Because space is limited you must register to attend this event, please do so here. We have created an age limitation for this activity because it will be most exciting for our younger students, and create a great opportunity for parents of this younger age group to make connections.
Monday, January 22nd, 6 PM - Internet Safety
RI State Police will be sharing information regarding cyber security, social media, child predators, and other related content. This event is for adults only due to the content being shared and discussed and can be triggering for those with a history of abuse. It is never too early or too late to educate ourselves on safe internet use, RSVP here.
