Hello and happy holidays! For some, this is a time of the year to reflect on love, grace, hope, and community. For others, this time of year may remind us of loss, struggles, grievances, or even a combination of all of these things, good and bad.
During this break, let’s focus on two things:
Being present. Close your eyes, be still, and breathe the fresh air of each moment.
Being gentle with others and ourselves.
The busyness of this time of year can easily distract us from offering love and grace to our friends, families, coworkers and neighbors. Use this time to celebrate and enjoy this season. This is also a time to deepen our relationships with our children and a time to show love and grace to those in our lives who may need it.
For those who struggle to find peace during this time, be reminded to be gentle with yourself as you move through the ups and downs of this season. Allow yourself to name and identify what brings you joy, peace, and rest. Maybe it's a warm beverage, a book, a hobby, being with family, or even a TV show. Embrace the small and simple.
As 2023 comes to a close, my hope is that each of us can transition into the new year, better suited to tackle the challenges and joys ahead.
