CELEBRATIONS!
Great things are happening at WCS!
We had an amazing turnout for our annual open house on Thursday! Families gathered to enjoy yogurt parfaits and learn more about opportunities for families and youth in our community. We then welcomed everyone into the classrooms to meet teachers and see where the magic happens every day! This is one of our favorite events to kick off the school year and connect with our WCS families!
BACKPACK PROGRAM
RSU 1 APP
If you have a smart phone, we recommend downloading the free RSU1 app to stay connected to the district. The app allows you to see the website for the district and each individual school websites. You can also receive notifications from the school and the district. You just need to go to Menu/Settings/Push Notifications and choose the schools that you'd like to hear from. All notifications that are sent out through the app are also posted in the "Live Feed" section of our website.

2. Click on this link: http://soggydog.search.snapizzi.com/search
3. Locate your school, enter your child's first or last name, then click, and you'll be directed to the photo site.
4. Enter your email address then the Access Code (which is the Photo Password you got from Infinite Campus).
WCS PTA
We had a great first meeting last week, and are looking forward to many exciting activities and events this year at WCS!
Participating in the PTA is a great way to get involved in the school and meet other parents and grandparents from Woolwich! We welcome new members at any time, and there is no pressure to attend every meeting, or to sign up as a volunteer. Our next meeting is October 11th at 6 PM- we would love to see you there!
HEALTHY HIGHLIGHTS
It has been wonderful getting to know so many of the Wildcat students and families so far this
year. I really enjoyed putting faces to names at Open House last night. Please continue to reach
out with health related questions or concerns!
As we head into October, I will start performing hearing and vision screenings as required by the
Maine Department of Education. I look forward to this time of year as it gives me the opportunity
to connect with many students whom I haven’t yet met. I’ll start with students in our Pre-K
program (they have already been practicing identifying the shapes used in the vision screen
with Mrs Harrington), then move on to students in grades K, 1, 3, 5 and 7.

ANNUAL UPDATE PROCESS
Still haven't finished your online student update? We need your help in making sure our information is complete and current! This process grants students permission to attend field trips, have their photos posted, and provides urgent information about their medical history to the nurse. It's also how you provide your phone number to receive alerts regarding snow days.
If you are still having trouble doing the online annual update (formerly called, First Day Paperwork) Please reach out to the school office at 207-443-9739 and we can help you complete this process.
SOMETHING TO TALK ABOUT
- Remember to check the Lost & Found (located in the front entrance to the building.) 'Tis the season to wear a sweatshirt to school and then leave it on the playground, and we have a decent collection waiting to be claimed!
- Applications for Student Leadership Team, Boat Builders and the school newspaper have been pouring in! We are excited to see how these middle school groups shape this school and year and make it special for everyone!
- Please remember to sign and return the bright orange cellphone policy/handbook acknowledgement. These forms were sent home this week; the handbook side needs to be completed regardless of if your student has a cellphone. Please let the office know if you need another copy!
This is the place to get all your WCS-branded clothing and accessories.
