Patriot Peek at the Week News

Next week, students in grades 3-8 will be taking the Illinois Assessment of Readiness (IAR) state exams. Attendance this week is very important. Please ensure that students get plenty of rest, come to school with a filled water bottle and bring a charged device each day. Younger students will be making encouragement cards for the upper-grade students and dressing-up with them for our Spirit Week. This is just one way we try to make this week fun and remind our students to simply do their best and not stress about these tests.

The school calendar for next year has been approved by our Board of Education. The school calendar for the remainder of this year is linked at the bottom of this newsletter. The last day of student attendance for this school year will be May 23rd. Students will be dismissed early on this day at 2:00PM. Don't forget that students will have spring break from April 11th-April 18th. Students will return from break on Tuesday, April 19th.

Grades 3-8 will be taking the IAR State Test during this week.

After a long week of IAR testing, these students deserve a special reward for their hard work! Check out the flyer about the "Wonder" movie trip. Students will return and complete a special reflection project with Ms. Schmidt and Ms. Strohmeier in the afternoon for ELA.

Students will be able to invite a special person to join them for recess and a picnic lunch during this week. (April 25th = Kindergarten and 5th Grade/ April 26th = 1st and 2nd Grade/ April 27th = 3rd Grade/ April 28th = 4th Grade/ April 29th = Junior High) More information will be sent home soon so that you can sign up!

8th graders will be honored at a promotion ceremony on this day at 6:00 PM at BHHS.

We will have a special awards ceremony at Wolf Ridge at 1:00 for our 6th & 7th grade students. Family and special guests are invited to attend. (8th grade will receive their awards at the promotion ceremony on May 12th.)

We will have a special fun day on this last day of school for students at Wolf Ridge.
