The Viking Culture this year is to "Win the Day". We challenge all students and staff to pick 1 goal each day to accomplish. When you have succeeded with that 1 goal, you have "Won the Day!"

Here are a few ways to "Win the Day"

• "Flip the Script" on struggles/challenges and make them successes!
• Follow "Kaizen" - strive for continuous improvement each day!
• "Be Kind" - smile, say hello, look out for your fellow vikings! Remember - everyone is going through a battle we may not know.. Be Kind Always!

Congratulations to the November Student of the Month recipients! SOM ceremony was held on Wednesday, November 29th. Thank you to all who attended.

CV is proud to support 6 Vikings who are participating in the Pop Warner Football Championships in Florida this week. The student-athletes play for the Tustin Cobras, who earned a berth to Florida after winning their playoff games.

Thank you also to Mr. Fox (VPHS Athletic Director) and Mr. McCuiston (VPHS Principal) for their support!

Cerro Villa and PFSO are partnering with the OCFA Spark of Love Toy Drive!

2023 Orange County Fire Authority Spark of Love Toy Drive

The Orange County Fire Authority (OCFA) is excited to participate in the 2023 Spark of Love Toy Drive, celebrating the 31st anniversary! This toy drive provides toys for thousands of children within the OCFA service area, which includes 23 cities and unincorporated areas.

This year our goal is to collect 40,000+ toys! We are partnering with KWAVE again, plus 100+ nonprofit organizations. Additionally, 100+ businesses have stepped up to help us collect toys for the many children in need this holiday season.

Cerro Villa's amazing band students will host their WINTER CONCERT on December 5th and 6th.

Tuesday, December 5th: Beginning Band, Jazz Band, Advanced Band

Wednesday, December 6th: Beginning Orchestra, Guitar, Advanced Orchestra

On Thursday, December 7th - CV is hosting a PARENT WORKSHOP in our Viking Auditorium from 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm.

Discover a mindsets-based approach to parenting that will empower you and your children to grow through life with the greatest possible happiness, meaning, and success!

Topics to be discussed through the 3 presentations include:

1. Bullying and cyberbullying
2. Coping Strategies
3. Digital Citizenship
4. Motivation
5. Primary and Secondary impacts of behavior

Grand Opening December 8th!

Cerro Villa will begin using the 5 Star App this month! The 5 Star App will ONLY be used to provide POSITIVE POINTS to students. Students will be able to use their positive points to purchase items from the NEW and IMPROVED Student Store!

Students will be provided a lanyard and pouch for their ID card. ID cards will need to be carried by all students at all times.

Students who were unable to receive an ID card will be notified of next steps.

COMPUTER SCIENCE EDUCATION WEEK IS AN ANNUAL CALL TO ACTION TO INSPIRE K-12 STUDENTS TO LEARN COMPUTER SCIENCE, ADVOCATE FOR EQUITY, AND CELEBRATE THE CONTRIBUTIONS OF STUDENTS, TEACHERS, AND PARTNERS TO THE FIELD.

2024 ANNUAL SPARTAN MINI DANCER CLINIC

• Mini Dancer Clinic - Sunday, January 14th
• Varsity Basketball Game – Tuesday, January 16th

Participants will experience the excitement of being a VPHS dance team member! Your VPHS Dance Team and Coaches will share our latest dances!

During the dance clinic: each participant will have the opportunity to learn skills, train with our athletes, ask questions of our coaching staff, and most of all have a great time dancing in front of our Spartan Families!

Each Mini Dancer is ALSO invited to dance with our Spartan Dance Teams at a Varsity Basketball Game on January 16th during half-time. Registration deadline: December 14th.

The Cerro Villa Parent Faculty Student Organization (PFSO) is a non-profit organization that assists the faculty and staff in enhancing the education experiences of our children.

​The PFSO assists with many programs around the school, including dances, Student of the Month, Honor Society, and the 8th Grade Promotion Party. Without your support, these events would not be possible. Most importantly, the PFSO also supports the faculty and staff at Cerro Villa in acquiring items they need for their classrooms in order to enhance our children’s educational experiences.

LCAP Survey - FLYER - LCAP opens on Monday, October 23rd

The state of California requires each school district to create a Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP) annually. Orange Unified School District conducts a survey each year to gather information from a variety of educational partners including students (grades 3-12), parents, community members and staff regarding the OUSD learning environment that contributes to the production of high academic achievement levels for all students.

This LCAP survey is anonymous, and the collective results will be shared during Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP) meetings to guide local priority development, actions, expenditures, and services related to the conditions of learning, achievement outcomes, safety, and educational partner engagement. We value each respondent, and it is important that we get a representative sample from our community.

STUDENT OPT-OUT FORM:

Per Board Policy 5020.1(a), you have the option to EXEMPT your child from participating. If you DO NOT want your child to participate in the LCAP survey, please indicate so by signing and returning the form below to the main office.

If we do not receive an OPT-OUT form from you, we will assume you are choosing to have your child participate in the LCAP survey.
