A Message from our Principal!
Greetings Braves Family,
We are looking forward to our students graduating on June 16 at 4:30 p.m. at the Chartway Arena. Many of our students moving on to 2 or 4 year colleges, trade schools, the military or to the workforce. We wish them the best in all their future endeavors. As they become alumni of Indian River High School, I want them to remember that "Once a Brave, Always a Brave"!
To all of our Brave Families, the administrative, faculty and staff would like to wish you a wonderful end of the year and a restorative summer. We want all our students to finish strong. We will see the underclassmen next school year.
Take care,
Naomi Dunbar

Attendance Requirements Reminder and Attendance Waiver
Students who are absent more than ten percent of the designated school days run the risk of not receiving credit for the classes, even if they pass them academically. For example, a student that has been enrolled since the first day of school and is absent for ten or more days is considered a chronically absent student. These students and their families will have to complete an attendance waiver request form, which will be shared closer to the end of the semester.
Attendance Waivers are available in the Main Office. A parent may request a waiver of the attendance regulation (seat-time requirement) for transfer students and those with documented family or medical extenuating circumstances that resulted in an excessive number of absences. The waiver request may be submitted to the principal or administrative designee prior to the close of a semester but no later than ten days after the close of a semester course. The principal or administrative designee shall act upon the waiver request within ten administrative days and shall notify the parent of the decision within five administrative days after the decision has been made.
If you have questions, email Mrs. Lancaster, kerri.lancaster@cpschools.com or call 757-578-7000.
