Attendance Update
As we enter our last trimester of the school year, our Hawks View team has partnered with our technology team to pilot a new attendance emailing system. On April 12th (and again in mid-May), all families will receive an email with an update on their student’s attendance for the school year. We know that regular attendance is a key factor in the success of our students, and we are hoping that these updates will help parents with more timely attendance information. We are required by the state to track and report attendance data and to move forward with attendance processes in order to support an improvement in attendance rates. Additional letters will be mailed for students falling below our state attendance guidelines. As always, if we can help in any way with improving your child’s attendance, please feel free to reach out to your child’s teacher or directly to me. We would be happy to help in any way we can. Please know, there is no specific action needed on your end from those emails, this is just to make you aware that you will be receiving them. Again, the first one will come on April 12th. Thank you for your continued partnership!
All First Grade - FREE Hearing Screening
Dear Parent/Guardian:
We will be giving a free hearing screening to all first grade students at your school on Friday, April 14, 2023. Results of the screening will be sent home to you in backpack mail and will also go into the student's file at school. If you do not want your child to have the hearing screening, please contact your school office ("opt-out"). For more information about the hearing screening, please call Health Services at 503-825-5093. Thank you!
COMING SOON!
The Hawks View Cinco de Mayo Spring Carnival is coming up fast! Mark your calendars for May 5th, 4:00 to 8:00 pm. More details to follow!
Small Staff Parking Lot
For safety reasons, please do not use the small staff parking lot for student pick up and drop off. This is a very small lot with limited visibility and maneuvering room. When picking up or dropping off your students, please use the large lot where we have staff to help with crosswalks and traffic flow. We do our very best to keep the line moving. You can help us by pulling all the way forward before loading/unloading and staying in your vehicle if you’re in the car line. Thank you for helping us keep your children safe and our process running smoothly!
2023 Proposed Education Levy Information
There will also be two more Town Hall meetings on the topic of the levy; community members are encouraged to attend these meetings to learn more about the levy and ask questions:
- Tuesday, April 18 – 5:30-7:00pm at the Archer Glen Elementary Cafeteria
- Friday, May 12 – 9:00-10:30am at the Sherwood Police Department Community Room
