PES Notes
Week of Feb. 20th-24th
A quick week!
Hey PES family,
I hope this finds you well. We had a short but impactful week at PES. I want to thank everyone who came out and supported our students at the basketball games last week at PES. It was an excellent time for our community. I loved that adults from both sides were cheering for their team and all students. Ultimately, these outstanding students will play together once they get to middle and high school. It was great seeing the encouragement of everyone.
We have 3 weeks until spring break in Decatur County. Your child needs to be present during these days as we prepare for our 3rd nine-week assessments. When your child misses a day, they miss learning with the group. While our excellent staff will take the time to get them caught up, it is not the same as learning with the whole group. I know I say a lot about absenteeism, but a child cannot learn if they are not there. I will get off my soapbox now.
I also encourage our 3rd-grade parents to pay attention to legislation at the state level. There is a lot of discussion taking place right now. Here is an article for you to read if you want more information. If any changes take place, I will make sure to share them. I would encourage all parents to take a few minutes to familiarize themselves with the law. I believe it will stay, but I am unsure about its current form.
Thank you for allowing your child to be part of the PES family. If we can be of any service, please let us know. Have a great weekend.
