Principal's Message
Good afternoon Canby High School Students & Families,
This time of year there is an opportunity to think about all of the things that make us thankful. Serving the talented students of CHS is one of those things. I am blessed to be surrounded by amazing students, a caring staff, and a supportive community.
This week I would like to spotlight some more of the terrific students at CHS. Our Cantalinas are starting their winter festivities with a performance at the Grotto; our art club recently painted the window at the Canby Public Library, and our Key Club is partnering with Kiwanis to sponsor a giving tree. CHS students continue to shine in so many ways!
Looking forward, final exams are November 30 and December 1. We need your help to make finals a success for all students. Please see the information below. 2nd trimester schedules are available on Parent/Studentvue. If students have concerns, please see the schedule change guidelines in this newsletter.
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving week!
Best,
Cari Sloan

Important Information
Finals Schedule
Here is our FINALS SCHEDULE FOR TRIMESTER 1. Finals will be November 30th and December 1st.
During finals, we strive to minimize all disruptions so all students can do their best. This means we will pause all non-emergency notes that are sent to classes as we want to ensure all students have the opportunity to demonstrate what they’ve learned over the trimester in a meaningful way. If you need to do a pre-arranged absence, please call Jessie Munoz to set that up before finals. We appreciate your support during these few days.
Cookies & Cram
ALSO! Students can join us for a finals pre-study session, “COOKIES and CRAM” on Tuesday, November 8th from 4:00-6:00pm in the new commons. We will have cookies and hot cocoa. First come first served!
Ready to Learn
Remember: beginning 2nd trimester, we are launching our “Ready to Learn” initiative. This means all students are expected to be on time, prepared, and have their cell phones away in their backpacks. We are committed to ensuring that all students are engaged and “ready to learn.” Thank you for your partnership.
Winter Break Credit Recovery
CHS is offering a credit recovery option in person during winter break. Please see your counselor if you or your students are interested in this opportunity.
