A Note from Mrs. Cook
Dear Paris Families,
Welcome to our November newsletter! As we enter the autumn season, we are excited to update you on all the wonderful happenings at our school.
First and foremost, we want to express our gratitude for your ongoing support and partnership in your child's education. Together, we are creating a nurturing and engaging learning environment where our students can thrive and reach their fullest potential.
November is a month filled with excitement and learning opportunities. Our dedicated teachers have planned a variety of activities to enhance your child's educational journey. From interactive science experiments to literary adventures and artistic creations, our classrooms are buzzing with enthusiasm and curiosity.
In line with the season of gratitude, we encourage you to join us in teaching our students the importance of giving back. Throughout November, we will be organizing our "Clemson vs Carolina Food Drive." Our hope is that this service project will instill empathy, compassion, and a sense of responsibility in our young learners. We believe in nurturing not only their academic growth but also their character development. We look forward to celebrating the season together and creating lasting memories.
As always, we appreciate your active involvement in your child's education and encourage you to reach out to us with any questions or concerns. Together, we can make a positive difference in the lives of our students.
Thank you for being a part of our school community. Let's make November a month of growth, discovery, and gratitude!

This is an opportunity for our students to participate in the spirit of giving by purchasing inexpensive items for their loved ones. All items will be wrapped and most items are priced between $0.50-$3.00 per item. PTA does not profit from this event, it is just a fun way for your students to learn the importance of giving to others. We will need many volunteers for this event so please look for the sign up coming soon.
Carolina vs Clemson Canned Food Drive 2023!
We are asking students to place their items under our "Carolina" or "Clemson" in the atrium and PTA will keep our tally during the week. We will announce the winner on Friday, November 17 and whichever team wins, Mrs. Cook and Ms. Gerard must wear that teams t-shirt/jersey on Monday, November 20! Who will win?

Lunch Menus for the month of November!
Please visit the following link to review our September lunch menu HERE!
- Breakfast and lunch are free to all students and served from 7:15-7:45 each day.
- Students must arrive n the cafeteria no later than 7:35 to be able to eat breakfast.
- If you are planning to eat lunch with your student, please note the following:
- Outside lunch can be offered to your student (no sodas please).
- Due to limited space, we ask that you not bring any additional guests to lunch. This is just for you and your student.
- Lunch must be eaten in our designated dining room.
- When lunch is over, please allow your student to rejoin their class. And parents need to report to the main office for checkout.
Volunteering?
- If volunteering in the classroom, arrive at the time the teacher is expecting you and leave the classroom when the activity concludes. Volunteers can be distracting to students if they linger in the classroom.
- Go directly to the place of volunteering, and then return to the office following the activity.
- Follow the teachers' requests. The teacher is focusing on academics and knows what is needed.
- If you are taking your child with you at the end of your volunteering session, sign our your child in the front office and your child will be sent from the classroom. Teachers cannot release a child to you even if you have been working in the classroom.
- If chaperoning a field trip, be sure to follow the online application process to become a Volunteer Level 2.
- Keep information you overhear/see confidential as you want others to do with information about your child.
Reading Expectations at Paris
We love to read at Paris Elementary! We want to encourage all of our students to read at home for at least twenty (20) minutes every day! Your child can read independently or with you. Books are better when you cuddle up and read with someone else! Consider reading aloud to your child and talking about the book together. Enjoying a good book with your child is one of the best ways to nurture a love of reading! Reading proficiency is the number one indicator of school performance.
Life Skills Of The Week for November
11/6-11/10: Effort
11/13-11/17: Integrity
11/20-11/24: Sense of Humor
11/27-12/-1: Common Sense
Car Line Tips!
- Try to arrive by 7:30 am. You will avoid the heaviest traffic, give your child time to be ready for the day, and allow yourself time when you have the unexpected happen in the morning!
- Students exit and enter vehicles only on the passenger's side in the drop off area. If it is necessary to use the driver's side, please park and walk your child across the crosswalk.
