Baseball
On Wednesday, the baseball team dropped a heartbreaker in extra innings to Pope John Paul II at home for the first loss of the season. Ty Lohsen threw a tremendous game, pitching into the sixth inning and striking out ten PJP hitters.
The Warriors immediately bounced back, however, by defeating Owen J. Roberts 6-5 in a ten inning thriller on Friday afternoon. Tyler Weil-Kasper led the offense with three hits, including an RBI and a double while Tommy Kratz and Ty Lohsen added two hits each. Kross Howarth threw a gem into the sixth inning and then gave way to Mike Christian who earned the win in five plus innings of relief. Ty Lohsen led off the bottom of the tenth inning with a double and then scored to win the game in exciting walk-off fashion.
The Warriors sit at 6-1 on the season.
Our feature athletes for this week are Tripp Shytle and Kross Howarth who share the team lead in average (.400) and in hits (8) so far this season. Howarth has an impressive team leading .571 on base percentage to go along with a team leading 8 RBI.

Boys Track & Field
The Methacton Boy's Track & Field team competed two days over the weekend, first traveling to Upper Dublin for the Cardinal Invite on Friday and then attending the Ron Liver's Invitational at Perkiomen Valley on Saturday. It was a successful weekend for the boy's team as a whole, who headed to both invites eyeing some big performances.
Cardinal Invitational (April 14)
At the Cardinal Invite, the team showed their versatility across the board, with 5 student-athletes earning a silver medal in their respective events:
- Zachary Willen in the 200
- Aryaman Punshi in the 110 hurdles
- SahBri Hill in the Triple Jump
- Nicholas Willen in the 800
- Jack Alpher in the Javelin.
Zachary Willen and SahBri Hill were able to hit district qualifying marks in the process. Later that evening, Evander Lackman competed in the fast heat of the showcase 3200, featuring many of the fastest distance runners in the area and state. He set a 19 second PR in the process for the 6th fastest 3200 in school history. Other notable performances from the evening were Wes Conover's 6th place finish in the 200, Akhil Yeluri's 9th place finish in the 1600 and freshman Colin O'Donnell's PAC qualifying performance in the 3200.
Ron Livers Invitational (April 15)
Saturday morning the Warrior's traveled to the Viking Invite represented by a different group of athletes on the team. The afternoon was headlined by a trio of sophomore performances in the 1600. Charlie Reith and Mitchell Alexander both ran to huge PR's to grab 3rd and 5th place, both qualifying for PACs in the process. Tyler Rifkin also shaved 5 seconds off of his PR for a time of 4:53. On the throws side, Tyler Deal and Will Tims both impressed with big PR's in the discus, inching closer to the 100' barrier and the PAC standard. Logan Courtney matched his PAC qualifying throw from a few weeks ago with a mark of 132-5.

tough away meet on Wednesday and finally head to the Kellerman (Great Valley Invitational) on Saturday.
One final coach note, it has been great to see how the team rallies around each other and
cheers each other one. This was very noticeable at our Duel Meet and last night’s invitational. A great show of team spirit!

Boys Lacrosse
The boys picked up another win versus Phoenixville this week before falling just shy of upsetting a tough Bethlehem Freedom team Saturday morning. We are looking forward to a quick turnaround back to PAC play against OJR Tuesday at home.
Player Highlight - Matt Shumaker
Matt is a sophomore who started the season as a swing player playing most of his time at the JV level. However, after an injury to our star face off player Levi, Matt has stepped up and has been even better than expected. His style of play is relentless and has given us many opportunities to gain possession of the ball. It is no surprise Matt was ready to rise to the challenge as he is also a distinguished wrestler and you can see that in his tough never quit attitude and play.
Upcoming Events:
4/18 - Game vs. Owen J. Roberts (HOME)
4/21 - Game vs. Pottsgrove (AWAY)
Girls Lacrosse
MHS girls’ lacrosse added to their record last week, recording both a win and a loss. MHS played Spring-Ford in a tightly contested game but came up short losing by 1 goal 13 -12. Megan Sanelli and Michelle Zhai continue to lead the team in scoring averaging 4 goals/game each.
MHS rebounded on Senior night against Upper Perk with a win 16- 11. Senior Emily Drake stepped into the cage in the 2nd half and made 10 saves.
The teams record is now 7-3. This week the team faces Boyertown on Tuesday and PV on Thursday night with its first Autism Awareness game.
Upcoming Events:
4/18 - Game vs. Boyertown (HOME)
4/20 - Game vs. Perkiomen Valley (HOME) - Autism Awareness Night
Boys Tennis
Boys tennis is coming off another big week with league wins over Springford and Phoenixville. The boys once again came up strong with everyone winning their matches giving us 2 more 7-0 victories. The team is now 7-0 in the PAC with four more league matches to go to potentially clinch the league championship!
The league singles tournament also began last week. Dylan Wen, Akash Suresh and Ethan O’Brien all represented the Warriors at PV on Friday. Ethan O’Brien lost to Pope John Paul’s number one player in a 1 hour and 45 minute marathon. Akash Suresh received a bye in the first round and won his first match against Phoenixville. In his next match unfortunately Akash got injured and had to forfeit after dominating 6-2 in the first set. Dylan Wen is the number one seed and got a bye first round and then had wins over Boyertown and PV and will continue on to the next rounds on Tuesday. Akash will also get to play for a district spot as the top 5 move on to the district tournament which will be this Friday.
