Are you creative? Do you like to draw? Please consider participating in Horning's annual yearbook cover design contest. The guidelines are as follows:

• 1. Your drawing needs be done on unlined 8-1/2" x 11" paper.
• 2. The word Horning and 2018-2019 should be included in your design.
• 3. A drawing of a Hawk is encouraged, but not mandatory.
• 4. Colored drawing are preferred, but also not mandatory.
• 5. Please include your signature within the design.
• 6. All designs need to be submitted to Mr. Kind in Rm. 116 by November 16th.

At Horning we are committed to have a safe, welcoming lunch environment. As a part of our efforts we would like to have capable, enthusiastic lunchroom supervisors in the cafeteria. Here is where our Horning Community needs your help. We are looking for supervisors to monitor the cafeteria during our 1st lunch, which takes place on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 10:18am-10:48am and Wednesday 10:34am-11:04am. This is a paid duty, $18 an hour. If you are interested in supervising, please send an email of interest to Kenyell Hutchins @ kfloydhutc@waukesha.k12.wi.us with your contact information included. Please note, a background check is required prior to start date. Looking forward to working with you in the near future.

The 2018 iPad Refresh for Horning has begun! If your student has had their iPad for a very long time then they may be qualified for a refresh! A good way to tell is is if they have ‘14-7’ etched on the back of their device. If you are curious if your child has a refresh coming their way please call or email the IT Help Desk at ITHelpDesk@waukesha.k12.wi.us or 262-970-1073.

The most effective way to get the refreshed iPad is waiting until it comes into Horning and then having your student pick it up in the library. Trying to get it earlier may be difficult to do because it may already be in transit to the school or not ready yet. Being patient is key in this situation.

Your student will know when the iPad is ready is by checking their student email. An email will be sent to the students the moment their refreshed iPad is ready for them to pick up. If your student keeps asking when it is ready, please know that this way is how it will happen. There will also be a pass sent to the student letting them know to come to the library. However email is still the best way.

There will be a letter going home with students explaining the refresh and purchasing options of the students old iPad. This letter will explain all options of purchasing the iPad as well as conditions for purchasing.

The Horning Ski/Snowboard Club will be having an informational parent meeting on Thursday November 15th at 6:30pm in the Horning auditorium (directly after conferences). Come find out about how to get involved with this amazing club. No experience is necessary to join. We hope to see you there!
