Deborah M. Wenzel
I spent 41 years as a Teacher and Coach at Savannah. I organized the largest homecoming parade in Northwest Missouri for 20 years. I am an active part of our community.
Why are you running for the SR3 Board of Education? Because teaching and serving on the school board is more than a career. It's my family.
Is there anything you hope to accomplish in your 3 years on the Board? During the next 3 years I want the community to know that I will be trusted with their finances and that I will put students first.
What sets you apart from other members of the Board, and other candidates for the Board? My 41 years of experience working for the school district in so many areas.
Jamin Sybert
Occupation: Compliance/Quality Assurance Manager at Albaugh, LLC
After being raised in Andrew County, I left to attend and graduate from Central Methodist University. I returned to Savannah, where I am raising my family, with my wife, who is also a lifelong resident. I have always been active in playing various sports and after having children coaching them in sports. I enjoy being with my family and friends and being active in the community.
Why are you running for the SR3 Board of Education? I enjoy serving in the community and especially being invested in the school that my children attend. My mother is a retired teacher, and I was raised knowing how important each component of the school district is to our students' success.
Is there anything you hope to accomplish in your 3 years on the Board? In my previous time on the Board, we have worked hard to better our students' education and opportunity. We are on the right track, but there is still more to be done. I would like to see us work more to support our students interested in trades programs and continue growing our successful elementary curriculum.
What sets you apart from other members of the Board and other candidates for the Board of Ed? I don’t know that I have anything that sets me apart from the other board members, as I feel each one has strong traits to help create a versatile and well-balanced board. I feel I, along with others, bring strong beliefs in our school and staff and want to see success in all district areas.
Rebecca Bledsoe
I have been a resident of Andrew county most of my entire life. I attended elementary at John Glenn and graduated from Savannah High School. I am married to Tyler Bledsoe, who has been native to Savannah his entire life, and together, we have 4 children. Mady has already graduated from Savannah and attends the Pharm-D program at UMKC, Emily is a senior at Savannah High School, Jake is a 5th grader at John Glenn, and Colton is 2 and will be a few years before he starts school.
Why are you running for the SR3 Board of Education? I am seeking another term on the school board because the last 3 years have been very rewarding. I think being a voice of the community, the staff, and our students is something I take great pride in and is something I would like to continue to do for our district.
Is there anything you hope to accomplish in your 3 years on the Board? I personally joined the school board 3 years ago to learn more about our policies, procedures, and curriculum. We have seen progress with our curriculum, and I want to continue to see that through. I also want to continue to promote transparency with our board and make sure we are doing everything we can to ensure our students' success.
What sets you apart from other members of the Board and other candidates for the Board of Ed? I have grown up and lived in Andrew County pretty much my entire life. I attended Savannah Schools, and my husband and all 4 of our children who have either attended, are attending or will attend in the near future. I am vested in our community and our schools. I have my bachelor's degree in science with an emphasis in nursing and a master's degree in business administration. I have over 15 years of leadership experience and a strong background in meeting financial goals. I am committed, I have a passion for our community, and I want to help see our schools thrive.
