Important Information
Counselor Needs Assessment
At the beginning of the year, it is best practice to engage in a counselor needs assessment. The informal assessment is a tool used for parents and staff to communicate individual needs of our students so that we know how to best support our community. The results of this assessment may be used to form lunch bunches, provide individual support, or open lines of communication so that parents feel they can partner with the school. If you feel your child needs any additional support from our school counselor, please take a moment to complete this form. If you have any questions, contact Heather.Mossell@leanderisd.org.

Food Program @ Mason
Mason has a food program for families! For interested families, weekend meal kits are sent home each Friday with students in bags the student can put in their backpacks. In addition, at-school snacks may also be provided. If you believe your student/family would benefit from the program, please fill out the form here. You can select weekend meal kits, snacks, or both. Please complete just one form for the family if you have multiple students at Mason, but please list all of their names on the form. Feel free to reach out to me if you have questions or concerns! Heather.Mossell@leanderisd.org
Attendance Reminders
Our Official Attendance Time is 8:15. Please note, this is an adjustment in time from previous years.
Absences should be reported in one of two ways:
1) Attendance email: mason.leanderisd.org / campus info tab / attendance / report an absence
2) Send a note (or doctor's note) when your student returns.
While we appreciate a phone call notification, a hard copy is still required to properly code the attendance record.
*School Dismissal Manager is used for transportation purposes only and is not the acceptable way to report an absence.
Home Access Center
Register for a HAC account to monitor grades, attendance, assignments. Also used to retrieve report cards and update information concerning your student.

Safety Spotlight
We are so pleased that the Cedar Park Police Department is extending their services to visit and collaborate with LISD schools. Please do not be alarmed if you see any Police Vehicles parked in front of the school throughout the school year, as these are expected visits and we are happy to receive this level of care. They plan to regularly visit campuses and collaborate in safety protocols as well as form a positive relationship with our school. We want to assure our community that the role of law enforcement on campus is to be a positive support and not a disciplinary or punitive response. We are grateful for their involvement in creating a safe and comfortable learning environment.

Schools Of Choice in Leander ISD
As a part of the Long-Range Facilities plan, Leander ISD is expanding our Schools of Choice offerings and we are looking for your feedback on future possibilities. For some of our students, the smaller environment and specializations that a school of choice offers is just what they need to thrive and grow.
A School of Choice is a public school offering specialized educational opportunities that utilize a non-conventional approach, designed to meet the diverse needs and interests of students throughout the LISD community in order to:
- Provide choice and equitable access for students
- Optimize varied educational opportunities for all students
- Maximize efficiency in the use of school facilities, transportation, and other capital and operational resources
As we continue to expand our own portfolio of school choices we recognize community and parent input is critical in planning of our future options. Please take a moment to review the possibilities and provide your feedback on future Schools of Choice. The survey will remain open until Thursday, Sept 15.
