Principal's Message
To start with, thanks to all our students and staff for how they handled the drama that occurred outside our building this week. This is exactly why at the start of each school year we practice our different drills. Our local police, our students, and our staff all handled the themself in an exemplary manner and I could not be more proud of these three groups. Thank you for your support.
This Friday marks the end of the first quarter. Teachers will have their grades posted and finalized on the 10th.
We wrapped up our first spirit week of the year. See below for our group pictures of each class from one of our five dress up days.
Thanks to the Horning Site Council for organizing and everyone else for providing dinner for our teachers on Thursday night during conferences. Conferences make for a long school day for our staff and all the food was greatly appreciated.
We also have our first PBIS sponsored Rec Night this month, see below for details. Our Skateland PBIS fundraiser was also a huge success, we raised a good chunk of change and had an absolute blast. All money raised goes into buying incentives for your students which are earned for showing Hawk Pride.
Let's make it a great November!

PBIS
It will be implemented at all three middle schools in Waukesha this year. PBIS works to explicitly teach behavioral expectations to students in a proactive manner and also to celebrate students who are making good choices. Lessons will be done through Advisory this year and within the classroom when needed.
Bell Schedule for the 2023-24 School Year
All students will begin the day with Advisory and receive instruction in all four core academic areas each day of the week
Each class with be 44 minutes in length with the exception of blocked ELA and Math which will be double that time
Attendance and Electronics Reminders
Attendance:
Attendance is extremely important.
Our school wide expectation is that every student is arriving to their scheduled class on time prior to the start of class bell. This will ensure that active learning time is maximized and students are receiving the best learning environment possible.
Students have 3 minutes to transition from one class to the next. This time should be used to prepare for their upcoming class.
Students are able to access their lockers before school, before lunch, after lunch, and at the end of the school day. Students should be utilizing these opportunities to prepare themselves for their early/late classes.
Please do your best to make sure that your technology (iPad) is charged and ready to go at the start of the day. This will ensure classroom time is maximized for learning.
Cell Phone:
The School District of Waukesha has in place a cell phone policy that requires cell phones to be placed in their locker upon entering the school building. The phone should be turned off and left in their locker until they leave at the end of the school day.
Thank you all for helping support us in a successful school year. Working together we can accomplish great things.
