Dear Parents & Carers,
I trust this newsletter finds you well and that you had an enjoyable half-term break. It's been a fantastic start to the new term here at Carleton Park J & I School, and we are thrilled to share some exciting updates and achievements with you.
Top 3 Performing Schools in the Country! To kick off the week, we were honored and thrilled to learn that Carleton Park J & I School has been recognized as one of the Top 3 performing schools in the country. This remarkable achievement is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our students, teachers, and the support of our wonderful community.
Thank You for Your Support We want to express our sincere gratitude to all parents and carers for your continuous support. The success of our school is a collaborative effort, and your involvement plays a crucial role in making Carleton Park a thriving educational environment.
Lunchtime Clubs This week marked the commencement of our lunchtime clubs, and we are proud to share that every single child at Carleton Park is now attending a lunchtime club. These clubs are designed to broaden their experiences and support personal development. We believe that engaging in a variety of activities enhances their overall learning experience.
West Yorkshire Cross Country Finals We are delighted to share that 40 of our Year 3 - 6 children participated in the West Yorkshire Cross Country finals this week. Following our recent success in the Wakefield competition, where we finished in the top 3 schools out of over 30 participating schools, our students had the opportunity to showcase their skills at a higher level. A massive congratulations to the children who participated—their resilience and teamwork were truly commendable and reflected positively on our school.
Attendance
Attendance continues to be a huge priority for us as a school and I am delighted to share with you that we are currently well above the National Average! Regular attendance makes a significant difference to both the academic and personal development of our pupils!
Thank you again for your continued support and understanding of the importance of attendance.
As always, we encourage open communication and feedback. If you have any questions, concerns, or if you would like to get more involved, please do not hesitate to reach out.
Thank you once again for your continued support, and we look forward to celebrating more achievements together.
Best Regards,
Mr Ayre
Reception Parent Phonics Session - Tuesday 27th February
We would like to invite Reception parents to join us for a Read, Write Inc. phonics lesson on Tuesday 27th February 2024.
To aid parents with supporting their child’s reading at home, there will be an opportunity to find out more about the Read, Write Inc. phonics programme, before being invited into class to watch a live phonics lesson being taught to your child.
To facilitate this, we ask that only one adult per child attends and that the event is to be attended by adults only.
The session will begin at 8.50am until approximately 9.50am.
Kind regards
Miss Brook
EYFS Lead and Assistant Associate Headteacher
