It's time to start thinking about summer camp
Dear GLOBE community,
Yes, it's that time already. The holidays are barely over and it's time to start planning for summer break 2024. This year’s Summer Language Camp is open to kindergarten through fifth grade students. Camp will be a mixture of language exposure and enrichment as well as fun afternoons that will consist of arts and crafts, music, games, in-house field trips, and Fun Friday’s.
Each morning, students will participate in their language track enrichment activities. Sessions will be led by GLOBE teachers and teacher assistants. This year we are also offering classes for our newest incoming kindergarten students in each of the three languages*. These classes will be a welcome to GLOBE and an activity each day from one of our language teachers.
The three weeks that camp will be in session are June 10–14, June 17–21 and June 24–28. Hours will run from 9am to 5pm.
Registration will open online at 6pm this Friday. Click here for further information.
*Parents/guardians of new incoming kindergarten students will be able to register in March.

Music
All GLOBE chorus students are doing amazing things in the vocal music world. Please share your congratulations with the following students who have been working really hard.
Kathryn Bohm, Emma Dargent Cham, and Zoe Stanback represented GLOBE at GMEA’s District Honor Choir. Meanwhile, Sylvie Hooper will be the first student in GLOBE’s history to participate in GMEA’s All-State Chorus in February. Sylvie received high distinction with a score of 99 out of 100 on her second audition. She will receive a special seal for her accomplishment.

“Volunteer of the Month” Carpool Winners!
Congratulations to our volunteers of the month, Hannah Martin and Heather Horne. We hope you enjoy using the “Volunteer of the Month” carpool flag to skip the line this month of January. Special shout-out to the extraordinary Florence Cannon for her volunteerism as well. Be sure to log your volunteer hours for a chance to win next month!
Lost and Found: Please label your items!
Parent volunteers return labeled items to the owner's classroom. If your items are not labeled, they may never make it back home. Please take a moment to find a labeling solution that will work for you. Here are some ideas to get you started: Avery No-Iron Kids Clothing Labels, Sharpie Fabric Marker, and Mabel's Labels (customizable labels and stamps, dishwasher and laundry safe. Enter "The GLOBE Academy" in the "support a fundraiser" field, and they'll donate 20% back to GLOBE!).
Volunteer hours can help GLOBE receive grants
Did you know that when you volunteer, it can help GLOBE receive grants? Some donors want to know how involved the community is. We can show them that parents are invested in the school by sharing the volunteer hours we have tracked. So please remember to log your hours here. When you log your time, you'll also be entered in our drawing for a volunteer-of-the-month carpool flag. As a reminder, each family is requested to volunteer ten hours each year. To see current volunteer opportunities, click here. Thank you for volunteering at GLOBE.
Shopping can help GLOBE!
Did you know when you shop at places like Publix, Kroger, and OfficeMax/Office Depot, they will donate to GLOBE PTCC? To find out how to easily set this up, click here. Every penny counts!
