Bullying Prevention Week Begins 10/16
October is National Bullying Prevention Month. We will have Bullying Prevention Week at LES October 16-19 to promote bullying awareness, including learning how to spot bullying, how to stop bullying, and how we can be more inclusive. Students and staff can participate in a spirit week along with engaging SEL lessons. In addition, LES school counselor, Mrs. Taylor, will be focusing her October lessons on bullying prevention. Our Spirit Week activities to promote Bullying Prevention Week are:
- Monday, October 16 - Be YOUnique: Wear your favorite outfit.
- Tuesday, October 17 - You Are Not Alone; Wear matching clothes with a friend or group of friends.
- Wednesday, October 18 - Unity Day: Wear orange to send a visible message that no child should be bullied.
- Thursday, October 19 - Put Bullying to Rest: PJ Day! (no slippers please)

Bus Evacuation Drill on October 17th
We will conduct bus evacuations on the morning of October 17th as buses arrive in the parking lot. This evacuation is a measure taken by HCPSS to ensure that students know how to safely exit the bus using the rear door. When directed to do so by their bus driver, students will leave belongings on the bus, move towards the rear exit, sit down, and safely exit the bus. There will be a staff member available to support students as needed.
From the Health Room
Attention Parents of Kindergarten Students---please check backpacks for missing Health forms that were required at time of Kindergarten registration. Please turn in these forms as soon as possible.
We have seen an increase in toileting accidents, especially in our younger friends (Kindergarten and 1st grade). Please ensure that your child has a full change of clothes available at school (top, bottom, underwear, socks). We are running very low on extra supplies in the Health room, so if your student has an accident and we don't have anything for them, we will need to call you to bring something in.
Lastly, for those of you who signed your student up for the flu clinic on Wednesday, October 18th, please make sure they are wearing a short sleeved shirt so that it's easier for the vaccinators to give the shots.
Have a great weekend!

Joe Corbi's Fundraiser
We just started our Joe Corbi fundraiser and we need your help.
Here's how you can help:
- Order from the brochure your child brought home or https://joecorbi.com/ to view the brochure online. We earn profit from every item ordered. There are many delicious choices including meals and desserts for your family.
- You can also help us by registering your child as a Participant to help spread the word about our fundraiser to your family, friends and coworkers via text, email or social media. Just go to joecorbi.com and click "Participation Registration"
Thank you in advance for your help!
