Meet Mrs. Hempel
I am a 2005 graduate of Purdue University with a degree in Elementary Education. I taught 2nd grade in Danville, Indiana prior to moving to Minnesota in 2007. I have also owned an in-home daycare for 6 years while caring for children infant-school age. Over the past few years I have taught 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grade at Chanhassen Elementary and a 1st/2nd grade multi-age class at Carver Elementary. This year I am excited to once again teach 1st and 2nd grade at Carver Elementary! I plan to make learning “jump off the page” this year as we explore through hands-on activities, songs, movement and high energy in our classroom.
My family and I live in Waconia, MN, along with our English Bulldog, Wisco and our cats, Chaplin and Gretzky. I have two children attending Clover Ridge in 5th grade and Chaska Middle School West in 6th grade for the 2018-2019 school year. We enjoy spending time outside - camping, playing soccer, and swimming at the lake. In my free time I like to sew, scrapbook, and be outdoors!
