November Student & Employee of the Month
Our RMS Student of the Month is 7th grader, Logan Miller. Logan was nominated by Ms. Staggs.
"This young man is always ready to help others! On several occasions he has offered to attach handouts into another student's ISN when they are out of the room/absent. Yet, he understands that his learning comes first and works on the academic task at hand before helping others."
Our RMS Employee of the Month. Below are some of the things her coworkers have said about her:
"Natalie McCormick does so much for our kids and honestly us teachers too! I didn't have the pleasure of having any of her kids the last few years and working with her has been such a blessing. She makes a point to have open conversations about ways we can work together to help our students and always is so polite in the hallways."
"I want to nominate Natalie McCormick for Staff Member of the Month. She is one of the kindest, most patient and loving teachers I’ve had the pleasure of working with at RMS. She is always so positive and calm in every situation— I truly admire her ability to quietly guide and work with struggling students while building them up and encouraging them. She’s awesome and deserves this honor and so much more!"
"Natalie McCormick is one of our heroes! She is kind, understanding, and loving. She loves her students "where they are" and doesn't judge them for it. Natalie should be Teacher of the Month."
"Natalie McCormick is an amazing educator. She has a really demanding schedule, but she is always positive and flexible. She is so humble and goes above and beyond for her kids."
Word of the Month: Teamwork - We're Better Together!
This month, we're challenging students to team up together and give back to their community. We are partnering with you to grow and develop your child's ability to collaborate and work well with others. We can model teamwork by looking for ways to give back to the community, seeking the good in others, and emphasizing our responsibility to make positive choices.
7th Grade History Day Important Dates
All 7th grade Social Studies Advanced classes will be participating in National History Day (NHD). We are very pleased to add National History Day to our 7th grade curriculum. All of the state literacy standards in social studies will be met through the process of creating an NHD project. Teachers will be working closely with the Library Media Specialist to help students with research. One class each week will be devoted to NHD work. Your student may choose to create an individual or group project in any of the five categories. When choosing a group project please choose group members wisely. Groups may include 2 – 5 students. Student Badges
7th Grade students were issued at the beginning of this school year. It is very important that students keep up with these ID badges throughout this school year. They will need then daily as a student at RMS. These badges are used in the cafeteria to charge lunch accounts, in the library to check out books, and with our athletic department to get into events for free. Please remind your student(s) to keep their ID badge with them in a safe place every day.
Lost & Found
The Lost and Found box is filling up fast. Please have your child check by the Library doors to see if something belongs to them. We clean the Lost & Found out at the end of each month.
