School Counselors reduce barriers to learning and provide the support necessary for all students to achieve at the highest level possible. CVUSD is proud to celebrate our School Counselors for their hard work and dedication to our students and entire school communities. We celebrate their invaluable contributions all year through and especially this National School Counseling Week: February 5th through February 9th. Click here to read more.
In the CVUSD we have a right fit for every student. For families who would like to enroll their student in a CVUSD school other than their assigned neighborhood school, this may be completed via the online School Choice Application process. The priority deadline for the 2024-2025 School Choice Application has been extended one week to the new date of Wednesday, February 7th at 11:59pm.

Join us for a special Open House Event on Thursday, February 8th from 5pm-6pm to learn more about the personalized learning opportunities available at our SHINE Homeschool (serving grades TK-12) and Century Academy (serving grades 6-12). Families will have an opportunity to:
- Tour our beautiful and recently upgraded campus at 33 Greta Street in Thousand Oaks
- Attend presentations to learn more about SHINE and Century Academy
- Meet with school leaders and teachers
- Have questions answered
Wonder Preschool: Now Accepting Applications for the 2024-25 School Year
Wonder Preschool is now enrolling for the 2024-2025 school year! Wonder's classrooms use curriculum which emphasize Kindergarten readiness and incorporate the California Department of Education Preschool Learning Foundations. Teachers and children explore learning together, expanding curriculum into genuine inquiry. Children will be challenged to construct their own learning, think reflectively, pursue understanding of new material, and master new skills.
Wonder accepts students who are 2.9 - 5 years old and fully potty trained.

High School Students: Register for the CVUSD-Hosted SAT by February 9th
This spring, the CVUSD is offering, for the first time ever, the opportunity for our students to register to take the SAT® on a CVUSD high school campus on a non-school weekday.
Act Now to Reserve Your Spot! Friday, February 9th is the Deadline to Register
To register to take the SAT® on a CVUSD high school campus on Monday, March 18, 2024, login to Q Parent Connect and follow the payment instructions LINK. The cost of the exam is $80. Fee reductions are available to students who qualify. Students will need to bring their fully charged, school-issued Chromebook with them to take the assessment. Click here to learn more.
You’re Invited: Virtual Preview Nights for New Proposed Core Literature Titles
The CVUSD community is invited to join the District’s Instructional Services team for two scheduled Preview Nights (virtual) to review a proposed new middle school Core Literature title: Almost American Girl by Robin Ha (Grade 8) and two proposed new high school Core Literature titles: Overground Railroad by Candacy Taylor (11CP/AP/IB), and Piranesi by Susanna Clarke (AP English Lit and Comp):

These titles are to be brought before the CVUSD Board of Education for Information/Discussion at the February 7th Board of Education Meeting and for Action at the February 21st Board of Education Meeting.
