Principal's Update
Mustang Families,
Happy Autumn Mustangs! We are kicking off lots of ways our Student Mustangs can get connected.
First, celebrate with your Mustang their Pride Points this first quarter. Pride Points can be related to a student’s personal or school life. A Pride Point is a time that the feeling of satisfaction and accomplishment can be felt. As our Mustang’s set goals for this quarter, we will be reviewing how to calculate Grade Point Averages (GPA) and set SMART Goals for this coming 9 weeks.
We celebrate our Band, Choir, Guitar, and Orchestra all having community performances this past week. We are so proud of over half of our Mustangs on campus stretching and growing their skills through music. This week Football Mustangs play for City Champions on Tuesday night at Burger Center. Be sure to buy your tickets in advance.
This week we will have theme days centered on Red Ribbon Week and Saying No to Drugs. We hope all our Mustang students will choose to participate:
- MONDAY, 10/23 Say No to Drugs: Wear RED
- TUESDAY, 10/24 Lei-off Drugs: Wear Hawaiian Shirts
- WEDNESDAY, 10/25 Team Up Against Drugs- Wear Your Favorite Team Merch
- THURSDAY, 10/26 It’s Crazy to Do Drugs: Crazy socks and hats
- FRIDAY, 10/27 Scare Off Drugs: Wear a Costume**
Friday afternoon, our Cheer Team will be sponsoring an afterschool social with a Costume Contest and School Dance. It will also be the last day of our Library Book Fair if students had not already decided with book(s) to curl up with in the evenings to come.
Make it a great week to be an O. Henry Mustang!

The Junior Maroons program aims to provide youth players in 3rd-8th grades with the opportunity to play on a lacrosse team outside of the traditional spring season. Transportation and Traffic
Car Riders: To keep traffic flowing, follow the arrows on the map below. Be patient, student safety is our most important priority. To keep our Mustangs safe, do not drop off in back bus lot. If pickup is altered due to bad weather, a Schoolmessenger alert will go out from the Principal.
Bus Riders: Bus riders may only ride their assigned bus. Use the Bus Finder page to check which route you are assigned. Buses leave promptly at 3:57 PM each day - information about late buses will be available in coming weeks. Buses drop off and pick up on the east side of campus. For additional questions about transportation see AISD's website here.
Walkers/Bike Riders: If walking or biking to school please be safe and use crosswalks to get across streets. Bike racks are available for student use.
