The Mustang Minute
Week of March 21st
FROM THE PRINCIPALS' OFFICES
The weeks just keep on getting busier and more exciting as we inch our way even closer to Spring! This past week, our 4th and 5th grade students enjoyed a mini concert courtesy of Mrs. Collins and our 7th and 8th grade Band students. They learned all about the various instruments that we have to offer here at Brookwood and about how to get involved in the band if they are not already a part of it. Our 6th and 7th graders also had an assembly this week to discuss related arts course offerings for the 22-23 school year. Students listened as teachers gave a brief overview of their elective classes. Course Offering Guides were sent home with students on Friday. Students have been instructed to collaborate with their parents to make their class requests, and to hand in the 2022-2023 Related Arts Course Offerings form to their homeroom teachers by Tuesday, March 22nd. At BES, our littles celebrated St. Paddy's Day by trying to find the missing leprechaun - Mr. Braden! At the end of the school day, the pesky the leprechaun made an appearance in each of the hallways and the students went wild!
This coming week, both buildings will continue celebrating Read Across America Week, and we have several fun dress up days as well:
Monday: Mustangs Love to Read. Wear Brookwood Blue.
Tuesday: Read My Shirt Day. Wear a shirt with words.
Wednesday: Cozy Up with a Good Book. Wear your PJs.
Thursday: Super Readers. Dress up as a superhero.
Friday: We Read All Month! Wear red.
Lastly, don't forget about the 7th & 8th grade music concert at BMS this Thursday, March 24th. The concert will begin at 7pm, and doors will open at 6:30pm. Students should arrive no later than 6:40pm. Good luck to all of our performers!
We hope you have a wonderful weekend, Mustangs!

Important Graduation Information for 8th Grade Families
On February 28th, our 8th grade teachers sent home a packet of important graduation information with students. If you have not seen this packet, please ask your student for it. The packet includes information about the requirements for graduation, ordering a cap and gown, and how your student’s name should be printed on their diploma and announced at graduation. This information is essential as we begin planning for our graduation ceremony. It will be here before we know it!
Please return every sheet in the packet - blue, pink, and green - to Ms. Metcalf. Packets are due no later than Friday, March 25th. If you need another packet, please email Ms. Metcalf at jessica.metcalf@gcj2.k12.wi.us.
Thanks!
