Dear ECC Families and Community,

The weather is COLD, but it's been nice and warm inside the classrooms of ECC! We have had a fun week of discovering, creating, exploring and learning. Even though Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow and predicted six more weeks of winter, we're going to fill the days with some winter fun- inside where it's warm! During the month of February, children will be going on snowman scavenger hunts, having snowball fights and ice skating (using paper plates) on the Winter Wonderland rink in the cafeteria. We're grateful we have been able to remain open for learning and maintain a safe environment for your preschooler. Please call the office if you have any questions or concerns, 317-869-4750. Illness Reporting

We have had several absences this week due to upper respiratory symptoms. If your child has any symptom(s) of any illness, including cold symptoms, we ask that you keep your child home from school and report their absence and the symptom(s) they are having to their teacher. Nurse Roz will then follow up with you regarding ECC guidelines for returning to school. If you are keeping your child home for other reasons please report that to their teacher as well. Thank You!

Please read the below weather memo. Feel free to contact the front office with any questions.

When dropping off a child using the main entrance, please be sure your vehicle and belongings are safe. It is best to turn your vehicle off, bring other children to the entrance with you and lock your vehicle with belongings out of sight. ECC has experienced vehicle theft (when left running/keys are inside) and theft of belongings (visible from the windows) while parents/caregivers are dropping off & picking up. Since the days are shorter and it is dark during these times, the risk increases. Be safe!

As the weather becomes colder and children come to school wearing jackets, coats, hats and mittens, it is important for belongings to be labeled. Please be sure to write your child's name on the tags of their belongings. When items get misplaced and aren't identified with names, it makes it difficult to locate and return them. Help us help you!

It is requested that each child come to school with a full change of clothing, including underwear and socks, in their backpack. Is your child's change of clothing appropriate for the changing seasons? Please make sure you have replaced summer clothes with warmer clothing. We appreciate your assistance.

If you know someone searching for a quality preschool program, send them to the Warren Early Childhood Center! We have spaces currently available for half day and full day classes. We also accept On My Way and CCDF vouchers. Registration appointments can be made by calling Mary Crabtree in the ECC office, 317-869-4751.

Session Times for the 20-21 school year are as follows:

Half Day Morning 8:50 to 11:50 a.m.

Half Day Afternoon 12:55 to 3:55 p.m.

Full Day 9:20 to 3:20 p.m.

Child Care 6:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

If you arrive after the car line has concluded, you will need to park your car and check your child in with the front office.

AM Half Day- Car line closes at 9:00 a.m.

PM Half Day- Car line closes at 1:00 p.m.

Full Day- All car lines, Orange, Pink & Yellow, close at 9:30 a.m.

Thank you for having your car sign displayed for dismissal. It's makes the car line move much quicker. Don't forget to have your ID ready to present to staff when asked.
