CENTENNIAL HIGHLIGHTS
Showcase Night 2023
On Friday, May 5th, William Tennent hosted Showcase Night 2023. The night was a huge celebration of all the students' talents. Stunning works from kindergarten through twelfth-grade artists illuminated William Tennent's walls, with almost 2000 people in attendance for the free event. Thirty William Tennent's Food & Consumer Service students, led by Mrs. Hessler and Mrs. Seder, catered for the event and showed off their creativity with delicious hors d'oeuvres and desserts for the whole community to enjoy. Log College's Food & Consumer Service students shared fun examples of their nutrition and design courses. The National Art Honors Society members shared their love for art through a Henna fundraiser, and the Senior Walls were packed with admirers from across our Centennial Community! The Art, and Food & Consumer Service teachers from each school could not be more proud of the achievements of the artists. We are inspired by their perseverance, risk-taking, and innovation. We wish all of them, especially the Seniors, the best of luck in each of their creative endeavors!
Hakuna Matata!
On Friday, May 5th, Willow Dale's Drama Club took to the stage to perform Disney's Lion King, Jr. Cast and crew performed to a packed house during the day to their classmates and then again on Friday night, entertaining family and friends. The 4th and 5th graders involved were responsible for learning all their character lines, performing songs and dances for the ensemble, moving around the scenery and having props ready, controlling the sound system for music and microphones, and managing the very intricate light board. They performed all of their tasks perfectly! Thank you to all the parents who volunteered their time to make our costumes and scenery. A special shout-out to the 30 Middle Bucks Institute of Technology students who traveled to Willow Dale Elementary School to do makeup for the 65 performers. The long hours, hard work, and support from 11 staff members made this show a huge success! Hakuna Matata!

ENGLISH LANGUAGE DEVELOPMENT (ELD)/INCLUSIVE PRACTICES
Liaisons Are Leading The Way, Hooray!
The CSD liaisons for Digital and Online Learning, MTSS, SEAL, and Inclusive Practices joined the CSD Coordinators (Michelle Gill (Social, Emotional, Academic Learning), Kristin Herman (Digital and Online Learning), Cassie Oshinsky (Multi-tiered System of Supports), and Meg Burke (English Language Development and Inclusive Practices) to share celebrations and replications, collaborate on new and upcoming ideas and initiatives, and connect over coffee, donuts, and song choices. Thank YOU for all of your hard work, dedication, and support! We appreciate you!
That’s The Way The Cookie Crumbles!
Thanks to the hard work and dedication of our English Language Development teachers (Maria Ansanelli, Diane Stevens, Jaimie Salembier, Mike Soncini), students engaged in a Girl Scout taste-testing station trying a variety of cookies (and for some, this was their first time trying one!). Students described the cookies, voted on them using emojis, and even learned about the Girl Scouts from two students who participated in a local troop. As an additional surprise, the students learned how girls are selected to be on the cookie boxes. Mr. Pisacano (5th-grade teacher at McDonald Elementary) told the students that his daughter’s picture was on the Lemonade cookie box! Watching these students learn, engage, and have fun with language was worth every cookie!
