Prayer
Reflection
We all have our favorite saints. Perhaps the best way to get to know a saint is to pray with her or him.
- Center. Rest in the quiet of your sanctuary.
- Read. Invite your chosen saint to pray with you by reading some of that saint’s writings.
- Share. What stands out to you from what you’ve read?
- Rest. Sit in the silence with this word, phrase, or sentence.
- Imitate. What wisdom from this saint helps you understand your own unique call to discipleship?
The saints are more than the heroes of our faith or role models for holy living. They are people who care for and love us, who actively lead us to follow Christ.

The Virtue of Circumspection (Carefulness)
Careful consideration of circumstances and consequences
PRAYER FOR CIRCUMSPECTION:Dear Jesus, my actions affect not just myself, but others. Please give me the wisdom to think before acting. Please give me the gift of counsel, that I may act in the best way at each moment of the day.
CIRCUMSPECTION LOOKS LIKE:- Asking for advice from an older, trusted person
- May I ask you for advice about something?

Sunday Gospel Challenges - Living Our Faith
Justice Challenge - October 29, 2023 • 30th Week in Ordinary Time
The Sunday readings challenge us to care for the most vulnerable in our midst. The First Reading focuses on immigrants, orphans, widows, and the poor. The Gospel has Jesus linking the great commandment of loving God with the command to also love our neighbor. Jesus made them inseparable. Your challenge this week is to explore your definition of neighbor. Whom does it include? Can you identify the people whom is God calling you to love as you love yourself? Stretch yourself as an individual and as a family by expanding your circle of neighbors to include those beyond your comfort zone and beyond your own parish or neighborhood. Have a conversation, meet for coffee, sit in the school cafeteria, or share a ride with someone with whom you haven’t connected. Make a new neighbor!
Care for Creation Tips - October 29, 2023 • 30th Week in Ordinary Time
As the days in the northern hemisphere grow shorter, don’t immediately reach for the light switch. Experiment with doing activities in lower light, or turn off your gadgets earlier in the evening as you try to stay in touch with the natural rhythms of the seasons and daylight. Do the dishes or play a board game by candlelight and enjoy the slower, quieter intimacy of the experience.
