LCHS Celebration of Excellence Awards Ceremonies
We will be hosting the high school awards ceremonies on May 9th and 10th. Invitations have been mailed to parents of students receiving awards. These awards ceremonies include class awards, academic competition awards, academic top ten, and administrative designated awards. They will not include A/B Honor Roll. The 9th-11th grade ceremonies will include a brunch, so be sure to RSVP so we can have a head count for food. The RSVP will be included in the invitation.
The senior awards ceremony will also include scholarship recognition.
May 9th Ceremonies:
Sophomore Brunch - 9:00AM in the HS Practice Gym
Junior Brunch - 10:30AM in the HS Practice Gym
Senior Awards and Scholarships - 6:00PM in the PAC
May 10th Ceremony:
Freshman Brunch - 9:00AM in the HS Practice Gym
Senior Grad Form - Must be filled out by May 10th
Seniors need to fill out this Graduation Information form by Tuesday, May 10th!
Exemptions and Finals
Exemption time is coming up soon. On Friday, May 13th, during CHAT, students will either receive their exemption card or a bill detailing fines they still owe. Payments for bills may be made online via RevTrak or in the commons during tutorials and lunch (May 16-May 24). They have until Tuesday, May 24th to clear up any fines they still have.
All students must take finals in all classes unless:
- Must have an 85 average or above to exempt
- Accelerated and Honors, AP, Dual Credit, On-Ramps points can be added
- The student has perfect attendance AND a 70 average or above average in the class the student wishes to exempt (can only be used for one class)
Please note, students will LOSE exemption status due to any of the following:
- The student has outstanding debt (students will have the ability to pay debts to gain exemption)
- The student has four or more tardies in the class the student wants to exempt
- The student has four or more absences in the class the student wants to exempt or one or more unexcused absence (U-U) in the class a student wants to exempt
- Covid related absences do not count against students when it relates to exemptions
FINALS:
Finals for students who do not meet the exemption requirements will be given on May 23rd and 24th with the following schedule:
8:05-8:25 - Tutorials
8:30-9:15 - B1/R1
9:20-10:05 - B2/R2
10:10-10:55 - B3/R3
11:00-11:45 - B4/R4
Online Payments for Student Debt
Follow the link below for directions on how to pay student debts online. Students can also pay in person in the Commons starting Monday, May 16th.
Last Week of School for Seniors
Seniors will attend their regular class schedule through Friday, May 20th. Seniors will not be expected on campus on Monday or Tuesday, May 23rd and 24th.
Last week of school for seniors:
- Monday, May 16th - yearbook distribution
- Wednesday, May 18th - finalizing course grades
- Thursday, May 19th - senior finals (seniors who are exempt from finals will attend a graduation meeting and participate in a career panel discussion)
- Friday, May 20th - senior finals (all seniors will be expected to turn in iPad and iPad accessories on the 20th)
iPad Collection and Fine Info
iPads will be collected from all high school students May 19th and 20th. Students will need to bring their iPads to school with the following items: block, charging cable, iPad, case, Logitech crayon (seniors only), and keyboard. Below is the fine info for missing items that are not returned.

LCHS Students Place at State UIL Academics Meet
Congratulations to Eleanor Gonzales Poirier and Mia Sanchez for bringing home 2nd and 3rd place respectively in Ready Writing at the State UIL Academics competition this weekend!
Lubbock-Cooper Classroom Teachers Association Scholarship Application
The Lubbock-Cooper Classroom Teachers Association will offer a minimum of four $500 "reimbursement" scholarships to graduating seniors of Lubbock-Cooper High School. This application is DUE BY FRIDAY, MAY 20, 2022. Recipients will be notified as soon as the results are available (likely by May 28th). Recipients must submit a receipt of expenses (tuition, fees, or books) above and beyond any other scholarships or grants you might have been awarded in order to be issued a check of reimbursement for your college expenses. STUCO and NHS Students Help Clean Up Highway
Recently STUCO and NHS Students volunteered to help clean up the Lubbock-Cooper Adopt-a-Highway. They picked up over 40 bags of trash and debris to help make our community roadsides look pristine.
STUCO students also participated in the Volunteer Lubbock Youth and Service luncheon, where student led organizations were recognized for their service to the community. They were honored by Mayor Dan Pope.
Yearbooks Are Coming - May 16
The Yearbook department will be in the commons during lunches on Monday, May 16th to distribute yearbooks to students who have purchased them.
LCHS Choir Booster Panda Express Fundraiser - May 21
Support the LCHS Choir Boosters on Saturday, May 21st by going to Panda Express! Order on the app with the code 336021 or show the flyer in person. Twenty percent of the proceeds will go to support the Choir Boosters.
Baccalaureate - May 25th
Graduation Practice and Ceremony - May 26th
Mandatory graduation practice will take place on Thursday, May 26th at 9:00am. Seniors will meet at the United Spirit Arena for graduation rehearsal.
Graduation ceremonies will began at 7:00pm at United Supermarkets Arena.
