Congratulations to the Class of 2022 - the first graduating class to complete all four years at Denmark High School. We are so proud of you and all of your accomplishments and wish you much luck in your future.

This newsletter includes highlights from our final months of school as well as important information for next school year.

It is my hope that all of you enjoy your summer and find some time to relax and unwind with family and friends.

Any student who missed final exams at the end of May should plan to attend the make-up scheduled for July 12th.

The following course have EOCs:

Algebra I

American Literature

Biology

US History

Any student taking EOC courses this summer through GAVS or FVA must also take the EOC. EOCs will be given the week of July 12th. These EOCs will be given at Denmark.

If you were absent for an EOC in May, you will also take the EOC the week of July 12th. These EOCs will be given at Denmark.

When a student completes a GAVS course in the summer, you must submit the final transcript for the course to post and to make sure students are in the correct class next year.

School begins next year on Thursday, August 4th. We will have an event for our rising freshmen on Wednesday, August 3rd. For all of our returning students, Dane Days will take place on Tuesday, August 2nd.

Attention Rising 11th Grade Students:

Effective July 1, 2021, children 16 years of age and older, who are entering the 11th grade (including new entrants), must have received one booster dose of the meningococcal conjugate vaccine (MCV4), unless their initial dose was administered on or after their 16th birthday.

Any student who is unable to provide proof of vaccination will be unable to attend school in August.

Parking Permit Applications for the 2022-2023 school year are currently being accepted for rising SENIORS and JUNIORS ONLY. Completion of the application does not guarantee a parking permit. Permits will be issued once the application is processed and payment is received. We will begin accepting payments and distributing passes beginning Monday, August 1. Parking spots will be numbered and assigned to students this year.

Free meals for students will end June 30, 2022, as reported by the USDA.

Forsyth County Schools will start accepting Free and Reduced applications July 11, 2022.

Denmark will be introducing The Pack Provisions Pantry for the 2022-23 school year. We want this to be a place that supports the needs of ALL of our students. It will include items that will allow our students to focus on their academic day instead of worrying about basic necessities. This is where we are calling on our Dane Community to help!

We are planning for this to include light snacks, school supplies, and hygiene products. Please support our pantry by donating items from our Wishlist below. We have included a link to our Amazon Wishlist that will allow items to be shipped directly to us, or you can choose from the list of items below and send in with your student. For the remainder of the 21-22 school year, all items can be delivered to Mrs. Covington’s office in the Counseling Suite.

If you would like to donate products outside of Amazon, we are specifically looking for:

School Supplies: colored pencils, number 2 pencils, blue and black ink pens, notebook paper, three-ring binders (minimum of 1”), spiral notebooks, and graph paper

Snacks: mini-cereal boxes, Little Bites mini-muffins, sandwich crackers, fruit snacks, applesauce poaches, Poptarts, pretzels, chewy granola bars, Nature Valley bars/biscuits, Combos, bottled water, protein meal replacement shakes

Hygiene products: deodorant (travel size), feminine hygiene products, travel sized toothpaste/toothbrushes and mouthwash

Supplies: brown paper lunch bags
