Welcome to our CTS Snapshot - a weekly celebration update. We are delighted to share with parents and carers alike student triumphs at Corby Technical School. We are proud of every student and every success they have - please feel free to share with us any achievements they might have.

CTS Christmas Showcase

This week we held our annual showcase, we began the show with a video of Year 12 and 13 students performing their version of "Do they know its Christmas?".

Our talented students performed various acts including singing, dancing, Christmas readings and an amazing piece of physical theatre pictured.

We finished the showcase with our CTS tradition, the staff panto, which was Aladdin, and of course no show would be complete without the Christmas singalong.

Stars of the Week:

Students:

We would like to say a huge well done to all the students who took part in the Christmas Showcase, it was fantastic to see you sharing your talents with us. Also, well done to the staff who performed in the panto, and to Mr Cox for all his hard work.
Mr Godfrey has nominated the following students, Year 13 students Reece and Stefan for great presentations on cosmology, Year 11 students Emily and Maddie for their improved grades in the recent Physics mock, Year 7 students Mason and Emma for consistently having high aspirations in Science and finally, Lana in 8ST for her overall contribution to the tutor group.
Miss McGrath has nominated 7TA for applying all their practical skills into planning an effective neutralisation practical in Science.
Mrs Brown has nominated the following English students, Year 2
student Malika Brown Yr13 for progress in English Language A Level, Year 11 students
Dominika, Baixu, Musa and Matish Parmar for a great term in English Literature GCSE,

Amelia for perseverance and progress in English Literature and Oliver for excellence in English Literature.
Mr Lee has nominated Year 9 Mathematicians Logan for fantastic work in sequences this week and Jack H for all the independent revision he has done outside of school.
Mrs Ferns has nominated 8A1 and 8B1 for their hard work this term.
The Maths department would also like to say well done to the Year 11 students who have made at least 1 grade improvement in both English and Maths.
Miss Grieves has nominated Year 8 students Ellie, Ciara and Leila for excellent work in Maths this term.
Mr Bradley has nominated Year 8 students Daisy and Gabi for consistently working well in Geography and Year 9 students Ines and Ana for their good effort in Geography.

Thank you to Mrs Tosh and the site team and Miss O'Brien and the catering team for a fantastic Christmas lunch for students and staff and making the restaurant look lovely.

Our Year 13 Biologists have been studying extremely hard ahead of the A levels next year, revising at every opportunity.

Attendance Matters

Every single day a student is absent from school equates to a day lost of learning. At Corby Technical School we pride ourselves in maintaining excellent attendance. Our target is to achieve and maintain a whole school attendance of above 96.5%. We will be giving you weekly updates on our whole school attendance, the tutor group and house who achieved the highest attendance this week.
