Digital Learning Day Thank You!
Thank you to everyone who participated in Digital Learning Day 2018 by tweeting photos of our OLS students using various forms of technology. These teachers earned a badge and gained positive publicity for our school. I also want to thank those of you who worked on badges throughout the week of February 19. Digital Learning offered a 2 for 1 badge special to anyone who completed badges during that week.
Teachers Pay Teachers
Just a word of caution to those of you who may want to purchase website access through Teachers Pay Teachers. Your students will not be able to access these purchased sites. You will be able to see them yourself, but they will not.
8th Grade Technology Assessment Thank You
Thank you to our 8th grade math department for taking on the responsibility of having OLS 8th graders complete the required technology assessment. We appreciate your willingness to take this on!
Ed Tech Google Summit
Do you love technology? Are you looking for new tools to use in your classrooms to enhance student engagement? Do you need a refresher on how to use some of these techy tools? Ed Tech Google Summit is for you! If you are interested in attending this year's Google Summit, be sure you talk to an administrator today! You won't want to miss this opportunity!
FlipGrid
Flipgrid is a great way to engage your students, check for understanding, or have fun with learning. Students create a video over an assigned topic and post it to the teacher's grid. Sign up for a free account today! Then, complete the badge requirements and request your Flipgrid badge! Once you demonstrate knowledge on how to use this techy tool, you can submit a request for license to the full version. Feel free to email me if you have any questions!
Try creating a Googlink!
Are you looking for a fun way to enhance your research projects? Try having your students create a Googlink poster in Google Draw over their assigned topic! You can find an example of a Googlink on the library website.
Infographics 101
Our own Kristi Starr, library media specialist at Coronado High School, created a very informative website on infographics. Read up on how to create infographics, recognize infographics, and why infographics are important by clicking on her website. She has some very interesting and useful information.
