Our Annual Financial Aid Workshop is scheduled for Monday, January 25, 6:00pm – 7:30pm in the Performing Arts Center (PAC). Several financial aid representatives will be here to discuss the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid), scholarships, and lots more information to support parents and students in the management of paying for college.

Character Traits in Action at LVHS!

Our character trait for January is “Citizenship”. LVHS will focus on “Digital Citizenship”. Mr. Randy Mathisen, Directory of Instructional Technology, will be sharing information with students and teachers on ways to help promote ethical and safe behavior in our digital world.

Mr. Mathisen is also presenting to high school and middle school parents:

As our world becomes more connected, it is important that we discuss with our young people how their habits, actions, and patterns in online communities impact not only their future but also how those actions affect other people.

Come join our discussion on Wednesday, January 27, 6:00pm - to 7:00pm in the Lago Vista
High School Performing Arts Center (PAC). This parent workshop will explore the 16-hour
course that every 9th grader completes as part of their Professional Communications course.

SADD (Students Against Destructive Decisions) is a collaborative group of parents, teachers, and students that will help plan substance abuse prevention, education, awareness activities for Lago Vista High School. Our goal is to help Lago Vista High School students become role models in our school and community by helping each other take a strong stand against the destructive decision to use drugs and alcohol. If you would like to be part of this planning process, please contact Heather_Stoner@lagovista.txed.net or Craten_Phillips@lagovista.txed.net for more information. Meetings will begin in early February.

Students on our academic teams can participate at the Round Rock tournament on January 30 or at Westwood on February 20. Please encourage your student to contact UIL Coordinator Missy_Howard@lagovista.txed.net or their UIL coach if they are interested in participating.

Baseball Tryouts are January 29th from 4-6 pm & January 30th from 9am-12:00pm at the LVHS baseball field.
