Principal's Message
Parents,
Welcome to the 2022 -2023 school year. We are off to a great start, and I am overjoyed you have chosen Clark-Shaw Magnet for your child’s middle school experience. We are working each day to provide students with challenging, hands-on math and science activities that foster lifelong learning.
This year we are raising the standards and increasing the expectations for all members of the Eagle family. Daily expectations include uniform compliance, behavior compliance, academic compliance, attendance compliance, and cell phone compliance. No exceptions! Please take a few minutes to review the magnet school contract and parent/student handbook for all school policies and procedures. The school website, Facebook, and Twitter are updated frequently with valuable information. This monthly parent newsletter is available on the outlets mentioned.
I am very excited about this new year. Contact teachers, counselors, and/or grade level administrators by email or call the office if you need assistance. My door is always open. Do not hesitate to call or email me.
Mrs. Taylor-Jackson
Be the light. Be extraordinary.

Notes from our Nurse
My name is Jolene Walker and I am the nurse at Clark-Shaw. This is my fourth school year here and I am so excited to share another year with everyone. I have been a nurse for almost 13 years, spending the last 4 as a school nurse. I just wanted to update parents on a couple of things. If your student requires medication at school, there must be a PPA (parent prescription authorization) form filled out by the prescribing physician. Once this has been done, then the parent or legal guardian may bring the medication to the nurse. Please do not send medication to the school with your student. Also, if your student requires any modifications to their diet while here, please have the physician fill out a diet prescription form so that I can get this to the cafeteria to accommodate them. These forms may be found on our school website or I can send them home with your student.
As you all know, we are still dealing with Covid. Our biggest defense for fighting illnesses is proper hand hygiene and properly covering our coughs and sneezes. Please remind your student to practice good hand hygiene. Also if your student or anyone in the home has tested positive for Covid 19, please keep your student home and contact me for further guidance. Please do not hesitate to reach out to me if you have any questions or concerns regarding your student's health. You can either email me at jhwalker@mcpss.com or call the school at 251-221-2106. I look forward to another amazing school year!!
