Littlestown senior and CCCTC masonry student, Isaac Stonesifer, participated in the 150th Anniversary of the Gilbane Building Company. Isaac was one of three students selected to take part in the ceremonial "first brick" event. Isaac was asked to set one of the first bricks for the Tech Center's new addition. Congratulations Isaac! Thank you for being a positive representation of our senior class!
Get to Know Our Foreign Exchange Students!
Riko Kambayashi
JAPAN
Riko chose to be part of the AYUSA exchange program hoping to improve her English skills to one day be part of an international cooperation organization, like the United Nations. In her spare time, Riko enjoys yoga, cooking, reading books, and listening to music. She is involved with her track and field club back in Japan. Her favorite American food is pickles and she thoroughly enjoys Public Speaking and Algebra at LHS. The biggest difference in LHS and her school in Japan is that students here are able to discuss topics and assignments throughout the class period. In Japan they just listen to their teachers and write on the board. Riko is looking forward to learning the opinions and ideas of her classmates and making many new friends!
Maria Eduarda Marton Coutinho
Ever since she was a little girl, Maria has always dreamed of attending college in the United States. She felt the exchange program would give her the opportunity to learn and experience American traditions and see how they differ from those of Brazil. She is looking forward to Halloween and Christmas, as well as Homecoming and Prom. In Brazil, Maria's school doesn't offer many extracurriculars so she was very excited to join our volleyball team and be part of the school play. In addition to the US, Maria and her family have traveled to Mexico, Portugal, Italy, France, Germany and Switzerland. She has been learning the English language since she was 3 years old! Outside of school, Maria loves to read and get lost in the pages of a good book. She has even begun writing her own book, which she plans to make into a trilogy. She loves to sing and has become obsessed with eating french toast! She has made a fantastic connection with her host family and can't wait to find new ways to get involved with our community.
Anna Titova
Anna loves to travel. She knew this exchange opportunity would give her a great experience and allow her to learn all she can about America and meet new people. She loves LHS and our little town. She has also developed a love for donuts! Anna plays guitar and piano and loves to draw. Anna has traveled to many countries including, Greece, Poland, The UK, Germany, France, the Czech Republic and Egypt! She is looking forward to studying classes she truly enjoys and thinks the hardest thing about the English language is speaking fluently while remembering all the rules of grammar! Welcome Anna!
Florence Vandersluys
Florence wanted to study abroad because she knew it would be an incredible life-changing experience. She loves how friendly and patient people have been since she's arrived. At her home school Florence is involved with the choir and enjoys playing sports over her lunch. She goes to school in France from 8am to 6pm! In addition to the US, Florence and her family have visited Belgium, Switzerland, the UK, Italy, Poland, the Netherlands She likes to listen to music, watch movies and be outside. Florence is looking forward to experiencing all of the US school traditions that she has seen in the movies and wants to try as much as she can while she is here. She loves her 3D graphics course and photography! Florence is also involved with our Girl's Tennis team. She is so happy and grateful to be here.
Host an International Exhange Student

Experience the joys of welcoming a new international family member int to your family. Students are 15-18 years old and come from over 60 countries around the world. Exchange students come with their own spending money, and health insurance, and attend your local high school. Host families provide students a loving atmosphere, their own bed and three meals a day.
Ayusa International is a non-profit organization dedicated to developing the next generation of global leaders and world citizens. What is a healthy school?
A healthy school is a place where students feel accepted, appreciated, acknowledged, and cared for. A place where teachers, students and staff embrace Aevidum (ah-vee-dum) and “Have each others’ backs.” In the club Aevidum, students will complete positive activities in the building to promote a healthy culture. If this interests you or sounds like something you’d like to participate in, please contact Ms. Pearce or Mrs. Group.
