The Cornell Quaranzine
Supporting Your Well-being - Fall 2020
09/23/2020
Dear community,
Is it just me or is it starting to feel like summer is waving goodbye? It is getting a little chillier out and the trees are showing the slightest hint of the colors to come. However you may feel about the coming fall and/or winter, there is something reassuring about the simple coming and going of the seasons. The seasons change no matter the circumstances - time goes on, and remembering this can instill hope by the fact that we have made it this far and that in the not-so-distant future we will go back to running towards our friends and hugging them, sharing ice cream cones with our siblings and traveling to see our loved ones freely.
For this week’s Quaranzine, we will highlight some resources and ideas to keep yourself going strong as we anticipate more good news and a brighter future!
Wishing you wellness,
The Skorton Center for Health Initiatives at Cornell Health

But First: A Self Check-in
What are you hoping for this semester? Have the challenges of this time whittled away at your hopes? How can you rekindle that hope? One way we can find hope easily is by connecting with people, activities and experiences still available to us. With just enough of the right elements, even in the toughest conditions it’s possible to grow something beautiful.

Highlights of the Botanic Garden: Cascadilla Gorge Trail
For this week’s Botanic Garden highlight, we are showcasing another easily accessible yet underappreciated part of what the gardens have to offer. The Cascadilla Gorge not only provides a breathtaking scene of waterfalls, bridges, and precarious-looking rocks, but it is also an excellent way to make your way from campus to downtown Ithaca! The “downhill” direction of this trail starts right behind Schwartz Performing Arts Center in collegetown. Make sure to check it out, and don't forget to wear a mask!

Quick COVID-19 Updates
So, what's the difference between Alert Level Green and Alert Level Yellow?
Congratulations to the Cornell Community! Our efforts in adhering to the public health guidelines by wearing masks and social distancing following the discovery of a COVID- cluster earlier this month allowed us to move back to Alert Level Green: New Normal. Let’s keep up the great work!
Here’s a quick refresher on the two alert levels and what they mean:
