Parent Update
Watch us SOAR!
Dear Parents/Guardians,
I hope everyone had a wonderful break. We definitely enjoyed time with family and friends, but also enjoyed having time to try to get everyone in our family healthy. And now we are ready for 2023! I shared with staff that I don't like to do New Year's resolutions. Instead, for many years I have selected one word to be my guide and inspiration for the year. Some of the words I have selected over the years are: create, hope, moment. This year, I picked my word over the summer...CURIOUS. Coming into a new school and new district, I have spent time being curious, asking questions, wondering, observing, getting to know the school, the staff, the district. I look forward to continuing to approach my first year at Clough by being curious.
During our first staff collaboration time together after break, I had the staff think about their one word and then they created a visual representation of their word. We had all sorts of great words...pause, persevere, adapt, happy, and many more. I also shared a read aloud with the school, a picture book called My Special Word. Some teachers have spent time discussing and thinking about what students would pick for their one word. I encourage you to think about choosing special words with your families. It makes for a great dinner conversation, and then you can all keep coming back to your words throughout the year.
Here are a few quick updates for everyone:

I am very excited to kick off the second half of the school year. I am so proud of the amazing learning that has been happening in our classrooms. Looking forward to seeing all of the progress during the second half of the school year!
