One of our caring traditions we love -- 4th graders completed a community service project this winter! Fleece and cash donations to purchase fleece were donated by 4th grade families during the month of December. 4th grade students, along with many parent and grandparent volunteers, spent the morning of January 20th assembling and tying blankets. Altogether, 45 fleece blankets were assembled! These blankets will be donated to Upland Hills Health in Dodgeville and American Family Children's Hospital in Madison. Thank you, everyone!

Due to weather, Saturday's Middle/High SWAL Honors Choir concert at Ithaca was canceled. We are hopeful to have a rescheduled date, but are working on feasibility with all involved.

Brad "The Book Guy" Van Epps from CESA 3 visited 6th graders recently to share his love for books!

Our high school choir members recently went on their Winter Goodwill Tour, brightening the day for those in nursing homes and local businesses!

Our high school Modern Communications classes enjoyed a Book Tasting to sample some new reads!

Our high school Key Club used proceeds from its Santa Gram sales to support Family Advocates! We have great students, always thinking of others.

"I don't want to work...I want to bang on the drum all day!" 6th grade band has been busy practicing rhythms with the help of paint buckets donated by Sherwin-Williams!

1st graders were so lucky to learn about Brazil from Henry's mom, Iza! She grew up in Brazil and Henry's grandparents still live there. Some of the pictures were from their backyard!

1st graders went on a very special adventure to Switzerland! Lainey’s great aunt, Deb, came to teach all about the place where her son, Jake, lives. We got to FaceTime with him and ask questions. We even went snowshoeing like they do up in the Swiss Alps!

#PointerNation was in the house! Lots of blue traveled to UW-Platteville last week to watch MP Alumni Blair Watters (UWP) battle Mallory Lindsey (UW-Oshkosh). They saw a thriller with UWP being edged 60-59 in overtime by UWO.

The Mineral Point High School Football team is looking for three Assistant Coaches (one JV Defensive Coordinator and two Program Assistants) for the 2023 Football season. Candidates must be available Monday through Friday after school for practices and games. They will have a staff meeting on Sundays as well during the season. Practice will start for the season on August 1st and will end in November. Coaches must be able to lead or assist in an offensive or defensive position group. Coaches must be good role models, have high integrity, and be able to communicate with all staff and students at a high level. Coaches will need to be able to lead the JV team and Freshman team if games are available for the Freshmen. Other duties may include, but are not limited to, the following: weight room supervision, locker room supervision, and bus supervision. Each position is paid by either the school or the Gridiron Club. Please send a resume and a letter of interest to Athletic Director Vickie Dahl at vickie.dahl@mp.k12.wi.us by March 1.

We are in need of snacks for students and personal hygiene items. Monetary donations will also be accepted which will be used for specific student and family needs.

If you would like to donate to the Elementary Students in Need Fund, please reach out to School Psychologist Katelyn Oellerich (katelyn.oellerich@mp.k12.wi.us) or School Counselor Alex Welsh (alex.welsh@mp.k12.wi.us). We are in need of boys pants children’s sizes 4T up to 14/16 and undergarments for boys and girls in all children's sizes 4T up to 14/16. We are also in need of snacks for students and monetary donations which will be used for specific student and family needs.
