Information for Parents
Chromebook Exchange: Sherwood Middle School students will be receiving new Chromebooks the week of January 4th through 7th. Students must have their current Chromebook and power cord with them to receive a new Chromebook and power cord. On the date designated below, students will go with their Language Arts class to exchange equipment. If a student does not have their equipment at that time, they will not receive a new device. Students who are absent on their exchange date or did not have their equipment may bring their old Chromebook and power cord to exchange on January 7th.
Please make sure your student has his/her Chromebook and power chord on the following date:
- January 4: 8th Grade
- January 5: 7th Grade
- January 6: 6th Grade
- January 7: Makeup Day
Free Heart Screening: Providence Heart Institute’s Play Smart youth heart screenings are now available by appointment. Screenings are free for all youth ages 12-18. Screening dates are January 12, February 9, and March 9 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. and are currently conducted at the Providence St. Vincent Medical Center campus. SMS Food & Toy Drive: Thank you to all of our SMS Archers for your food and toy donations to support the Elks Lodge Food Drive and Les Schwab Toy Drive. Inclement Weather: As we move into the season for inclement weather, parents should know to check the District website for school delay or closure information. Parents are also encouraged to sign-up for the FlashAlert to keep updated on the most current inclement weather announcements.
Fees for 6th Grade Electives: If your 6th grade student’s schedule changed at the start of the new trimester and they now have Art, FACS, or Woods & Engineering there is a fee that goes along with the new elective class. Fees will be added to each student’s account by the end of the day Friday, June 10th. If you have any questions, please contact the elective teacher or Jeanette Godfrey in the main office.
