Karen Burke - Teeny Tiny Atom
Using a mighty powerful lesson by combining Nearpod, virtual reality, and a simulation, Karen Burke taught her students about the minute world of the teeny tiny atom. They traveled to the Acropolis in Athens, Greece, to visit the sight where ancient philosopher, Democritus, first proposed the idea of a universal building block. Next, they watched a short video made from atoms, and finally, created their own atoms by manipulating protons, neutrons, and electrons using a PHET simulator. Along the journey, Karen kept students engaged by using formative assessment questions she created in Nearpod. Combining multiple types of technology is easy using Nearpod—to find out more, contact an eLearning coach to schedule a demonstration.
